Chapter 1: A Best Friend’s Wedding

Harry was standing up in front of the crowd next to Ron. Ron had asked Harry to be his best man for his wedding to Hermione. Ron’s face was as red as his hair as he leaned in towards Hermione and kissed his wife for the first time.

After Ron and Hermione walked down the aisle towards the dance floor, Harry aimed towards his now eight month pregnant wife. “Hey. How are you feeling?”

“Besides my swollen ankles, I’m fine,” smiled Ginny. “I can’t believe they finally got married. Hermione looked so beautiful.”

“Yeah she did.” Harry stretched his hand towards Ginny and helped her up. Together, they walked to their table next to the dance floor.

“Ginny dear, how are you doing?” asked Mrs. Weasley as they sat down next to her.

“I’m fine, mum. Just a little bit of swollen ankles.”

“You don’t look fine.”

“It’s just that I wanted to dance today. I’m a bit disappointed that I won’t be able to do so.”

“I could use a hover charm on you and dance that way,” chimed in Harry.

“Oh no you will not ” exclaimed Ginny.

“Yes dear,” replied Harry with his head hung low. Ever since he found out that Ginny was pregnant, he couldn’t go against a single thing she said. Harry passed the time talking to Mrs. Weasley while Ginny ate plate after plate of the spectacular food.

“How is the new house Harry?” asked Lupin as he walked towards them.

“Not bad. It’s a little messy right now. Ginny hasn’t been up to cleaning lately and I can’t clean to save my life,” he replied standing up to greet his old professor and friend. When Ginny had announced that she was pregnant, Harry had a house built not far from the Burrow so they could have their privacy. The house was just in the neighboring village of Ottery St. Catchpole. In fact, you could look out their front window and see the spot where the Weasley’s along with Harry and Hermione had taken the portkey with Cedric and Mr. Diggory to the Quidditch World Cup. “Why don’t you and Tonks come over for dinner some night soon? Just to warn you though, I’ve had to do most of the cooking lately.”

“I think I’ll pass for just now. Maybe later on, when Ginny is feeling up to cooking. I would trust you with my life in a fight, but not so much in the kitchen.” They both shared a laugh with Ginny and Mrs. Weasley.

When Harry finally stopped laughing, he looked up and saw Hermione walking towards them. “Where’s Ron?” he asked.

“He is dancing with his Aunt Muriel. Anyway, I’ve come to ask Harry for a dance.”

“Why me?” Harry groaned.

“I danced with you at your wedding and you’re going to dance with me at mine,” she reported. Ginny elbowed Harry in the side and he stood up shaking his head and followed Hermione to the dance floor.

“You know I can’t dance, Hermione.”

“I know. I love embarrassing the ‘Chosen One’ anytime I get,” she said smiling. Harry couldn’t help but laughing too. They danced for a few more minutes until they heard a scream and a small thud of someone falling off their chair. “That came from where Ginny was sitting,” said Hermione looking concerned.

Harry quickly stopped dancing and ran towards the source of the noise. When he arrived at where Ginny was sitting with her mother, he saw a pregnant woman laying on the ground breathing heavily. “Ginny ” he screamed as he knelt down next to her grabbing hold of her hand. “What is wrong? Are you ok?”

Ginny’s face was bright red. “I fell off my chair.” Harry just looked at her in wonder, but suddenly, they both started laughing.

“What is going on here?” asked Ron when he arrived.

Harry was just leaning down to help Ginny up when he answered, “Nothing.”

“I fell Ron. I wish everyone wouldn’t stare,” said Ginny blushing.

“Yeah, everyone get back to what they were doing,” said Harry as he helped Ginny sit back down in her chair. “Are you ok?”

“Just a little embarrassed.”

“How did you fall?” asked Harry running his hand through her hair as he always did.

“I saw you dancing and having fun and I wanted to dance too.”

“I’m sorry. Would it help if I look like I’m having a horrible time?”

“Maybe,” Ginny replied with a smile. Harry smiled back at her.

“Do you just want to get out of here and go home? You could laugh while you watch me try and clean the house.”

“That’s always good for a laugh, but no. It’s Ron and Hermione’s wedding. We can’t leave early.”

“Whatever you say, Mrs. Potter,” said Harry and they both shared a laugh. Harry insisted on sitting with Ginny. He finally got up after Ginny kept elbowing him and telling him to walk around and mingle.

Harry found Ron and Hermione standing with Mr. and Mrs. Granger. “Hey mate. How’s being married treating you so far,” he said as he came up behind Ron and slapped him on the shoulder.

“You better watch yourself Harry. I want him in one piece for our honeymoon. I’m not afraid to hex anyone to make sure that is the case,” said Hermione

“You better keep an eye out for Fred and George then. I overheard them planning something.”

“So, you are the famous Harry Potter. We’ve heard so much about you from Hermione,” said Mr. Granger as he reached out his hand. Harry shook his hand.

“Yeah, that would be me. What kind of things did Hermione tell you about me?” asked an interested Harry. He gave a sly look to Hermione.

“Oh just that you were a powerful wizard and that you were brave. After her first year at Hogwarts, she couldn’t stop talking about how brave you were when you stopped your professor from stealing some stone.”

“Oh, you mean when I stopped Quirrell from getting the Sorcerer’s Stone?”

“Yeah, that’s it. She kept on harping on about you all summer. I think she might have had a crush on you for a while. That is until she fell for Ron,” replied Mrs. Granger.

“And exactly when was that?” asked Ron.

“That is a secret Ron,” said Hermione. She gave a look towards her parents and Harry that surley meant it was time to change the subject.

“So Harry, I saw that your wife was pregnant. Isn’t she Ron’s sister?” said Mr. Granger.

“Yeah. As Hermione will undoubtedly tell you, there is just something about the Weasleys.”

“How far along is she?” asked Mrs. Granger.

“Eight months,” replied Harry.

“Congratulations,” the Granger’s said simultaneously. Harry just smiled, nodded his head and walked away.

He made his way back to Ginny and found her surrounded by Fred and George. “You two better not be bothering my wife. She had enough adventure for one day,” Harry said smiling at Ginny.

“We heard about that. You have been neglecting your duties as her husband,” said Fred.

“Yes. I agree. If the unfortunate travestys continue, we will have to do something about it,” chimed in George.

“Is that a threat?” said Harry with a smile on his face.

“Will you three stop it,” said Ginny with an air of annoyance in her voice. The twins walked away in the direction of Lupin and Tonks. Harry just smiled and sat down next to her and put his arm around her. Ginny put her hand in Harry’s, put her head on his shoulders and closed her eyes.

“Have you met Hermione’s parents?” he asked Ginny.

“They came by and said hello when you were dancing with Hermione.”

“I liked them. They were nice. We should invite them over after the baby is born. We could have them and your parents, and Ron and Hermione over for dinner. I don’t think anyone will want to come over while I’m doing the cooking though.”

“I’m gonna have to get mum to give you some lessons.”

“You want to go home now? We could just lay in bed and talk.”

“That sounds good. Are you going to wait on me hand and foot?”

“Isn’t that what I have been doing for months now?”

“Yeah, but I just wanted to hear you say it.” Harry just smiled and reached in and gave Ginny a kiss. “Let’s get out of here.”

Harry and Ginny said their goodbyes to everyone at the reception. Harry pulled Ron aside to give him some advice as did Ginny with Hermione. When they were finished they apperated back home.
Harry sat in the living room drinking some butterbeer while Ginny was upstairs taking a shower. He sat starring at the tapestry now hanging on the wall. “We should be adding a new name to you soon,” he said out loud. When he was finished, he went up stairs and got in the shower once Ginny was out. He took a quick shower, put on some pants and got into bed next to Ginny. “That was a fun day, wasn’t it?” he said while wrapping his arms around Ginny.

“Yes it was. I’m so happy for Ron and Hermione. It kind of makes me sad though.”

“Why?”

“It makes me want to get married all over again.” With that said they fell asleep.

Chapter 2: An Old Friend

“Come on Harry. We’re going to be late,” screamed Ginny from the bottom of the stairs. They were supposed to be going to the burrow to have a party for Ron and Hermione, whom had just returned from their honeymoon. “”If you don’t get done here now I’m going to come up there and jinx you.”

“Calm down dear,” said Harry as he appeared at the top of the stairs. “I just got out of the shower. I needed a few moments to get dressed.”

“Well, get down here now. I don’t want to be late for the party. Ron and Hermione got back only this morning.”

“You don’t want to see Ron. You want to eat something better for a chance,” Harry said as he walked down the stairs and wrapped his arms around Ginny.

“Well, that wouldn’t be a problem if you could just learn to cook. You were a natural at Defense Against the Dark Arts but you can’t fry an egg to save your life.” They both laughed. “Can we just get going?” Harry nodded and they both walked towards the kitchen. Ginny was eight months pregnant so they were going to use Floo Powder to get to the Burrow.

“Hey mum,” said Ginny as she stepped out of the fire.

“Ginny dear, how are you,” said Mrs. Weasley as she hugged her daughter. “Harry how are you doing?” Mrs. Weasley then proceeded to give him a hug too.

“I’m fine Mrs. Weasley.”

Mrs. Wesley then let him go. “How many times do I have to tell you? Call me mum,” she said waving her finger in front of Harry’s face.

“Mum, leave him alone,” said Ron from the other side of the room. “How are you, mate?”

“Not bad.”

“He still can’t cook though. I don’t understand how the-boy-who-lived can’t even make a decent meal for his pregnant wife. He can defeat he-who-must-not-be-named but can’t make a halfway edible dinner,” said Ginny.

“Don’t worry Ginny dear. I’ll just have to give him a lesson or two. But that will have to wait. Everyone sit down. Lunch is ready.”

Everyone sat down and ate. Harry sat with his arm around Ginny, and Ron had his arm around Hermione. Bill, Fleur, Charlie, the twins, Lupin and Tonks had also shown up. Ginny was in the middle of eating a plate of the delicious food when a silvery shape appeared in the kitchen right next to her.

Harry’s eyes widened and a broad smile stretched across his face. He whipped out his wand and a silver stag erupted out of the end of it and it was soon gone following the other Patronus.

“What was that?” asked Ron.

“Harry, who’s Patronus was that?” asked Hermione.

“You’ll see,” is all Harry said in reply.

“Harry tell this minute who that was,” demanded Ginny.

Again Harry replied with only a few words. “An old friend.”

Everyone else looked at Harry but returned to eating their meal. A few minutes later a faint popping sound could be heard outside the door followed by someone knocking.

“Could you get that Ron?” asked Mr. Weasley.

“I’ll get it. I’ll be back in a minute,” said Harry. He walked out the door and began having a conversation with someone outside. Ten minutes later, the door opened. Harry walked back inside, but this time he was followed by another man.

The man was about the same height as Ron and had short black hair. He had a tattoo along the inside of his right forearm that no one quite knew what it meant. He was dressed in normal muggle clothing but a wand was sticking out of the right pocket of his jeans.

“Everyone, I would like to introduce you to someone. This is an old friend of mine. His name is Michael,” said Harry while he scanned everyone faces tying to judge what they were thinking.

“Hey, just call me Mike.”

“Hi,” replied Ginny. “Harry, if he is an old friend, why haven’t you ever told me or anyone else about him?”

“I can answer that question. He never told you about me because I asked him not to,” replied Mike. “You must be Ginny.” Ginny nodded. Mike then proceeded to identify Ron, Hermione and the rest of the Weasley family. It was obvious that Harry had told him a lot about them.

“Please sit down and have some lunch. If you are a friend of Harry’s, you are a friend of our’s,” said Mrs. Wesley.

“How did you meet Harry?” Hermione asked Mike.

“It’s actually quite an interesting story. I came over from America during Harry’s sixth year at Hogwarts. My parents had spent some time in England when they were younger and knew Dumbledore. To make a long story short, I came over to help Dumbledore. He showed me a few of his more interesting tricks and had me doing a few various things.”

“He never mentioned you during the Order meetings,” commented Mr. Weasley.

“I asked him about that once. He just said that he wanted someone outside the Order. He had some secret errands for me to run for him.”

“What could he have wanted you to do?” asked Bill who had thus far remained silent. “I don’t mean any offense. I was just wondering,” he hastily added as he saw the look on Harry and Mike’s faces.

“I’m sorry, but that is a secret between me, Harry, and a select other few,” Mike said as he threw a wink in Ron and Hermione’s direction. Ron and Hermione looked confused for a second but a look of comprehension spread across their face as what Mike meant dawned on them.

“But when did you actually first meet Harry?” asked Bill

“A day or so after you got married to Fleur,” Mike said bowing his head in Bill and Fleur’s direction. “Dumbledore always thought Harry was going to go off on his own and go after Voldemort. He wanted me to be there for some help.”

“Harry, I thought you said you were alone that year?” asked Ginny.

“I never actually said I was alone, only lonely,” Harry replied. Mike laughed.

“I’m not always the best company.”

“That is an understatement. We were much in the same boat. I had just Ginny at the Burrow, and he had left someone in America to come to England.”

“Nothing like conspiring in misery to cheer someone up,” laughed Mike.

“So, you two spent the whole year hunting down Voldemort?” asked Fred.

“Pretty much,” replied Harry.

“You weren’t at the site of the final battle when I showed up,” said Lupin. “Where you involved in it?”

“I was for part of it. A few low level death eaters had managed to escape. Harry said he could handle the rest of them and yelled at me to follow them. I chased after them for awhile. I caught all but one of them in a few hours.”

“What happened to the last one?” asked Harry. This was the first time he had seen Mike since the final battle.

“He actually made it all the way to the United States. By the time I got back to the states, he had hidden himself pretty good. It took me three months to finally find him.”

“Then why didn’t you come here to visit sooner?” Harry asked.

“You weren’t the only one with a life to go back to. I sacrificed a lot when I left my wife and two month old baby in America to come over to England. I did it because I knew my parents would have wanted me to.”

“I’m sorry. I should have realized that. You could have sent a letter or something,” replied Harry.

“Letters really aren’t my style, but I could say the same thing about you. Anyways, I see life is treating you well. I heard from tourists that you got married, but I didn’t know Ginny was pregnant. How far along is she?”

“I’m a little over eight months,” answered Ginny. “You said you had a wife and kid. How are they doing?”

“Oh they’re great. My wife Christina is starting to beg to have another child. My son Stephen is fine too.”

“How old is he now?” asked Hermione.

“He’s four now.”

Mike talked with everyone for hours. When they all sat back down at the table for dinner, Mike was friends with all of them. When Harry sat down at the table he noticed that Ginny wasn’t there with him. “Where’s Ginny?”

“I don’t know,” said Hermione. “I thought I saw her in the living room a few minutes ago.”

Harry got up and went to look for her. He found her sitting in the chair in front of the unlit fireplace. “Ginny, is everything alright?” Ginny looked up into his face. Her face was pale. “Honey, what’s wrong?”

“Harry, my water just broke. I’m having the baby now.”

Chapter 3: The day they have all been waiting for

“Mrs. Weasley, Ginny’s going into labour,” screamed Harry as he carried Ginny in his arms into the kitchen.

“Get her to St. Mungo’s quick. We’ll all be along soon,” replied Mrs. Weasley. She was already bossing people around. Shoving them in various directions with little small chores to do.

“Get her there quick Harry. I’ll be by in a few minutes. We’ll catch up and reminisce more later,” said Mike putting a hand on Harry’s shoulder. Within seconds Mike had apperated and was gone. Harry and Ginny followed a few seconds later.

Harry appeared at St. Mundo’s with a pop. He ran up towards the desk with Ginny still in his arms. “My wife is in labour.”

“Bring her this way Mr. Potter,” said a voice. Harry turned and saw a pretty young witch. Harry followed her and before he got to the door he saw Mike sitting in a chair.

“You are getting slow Harry. What took you so long?” said Mike with a smile.

“Come on Mr. Potter,” said the female healer. She was standing in the door motioning for Harry for her to follow. She caught Mike’s eyes and they both winked at each other. Harry followed her through the door and left Mike sitting alone.

A few minutes later, the whole Weasley clan showed up and seeing Mike sitting there, they came over and sat down.

“You can’t go through there,” said Mike as he saw Ron looking through the window in the door.

Ron mumbled something to himself and came to sit down next to Hermione. “Have you heard anything yet?” asked Hermione , looking at Mike.

“Nothing yet. The healer took them through a few minutes before you got here. She hasn’t been back out yet.” Just then a few healers came running by and through a door.

“Oh dear. Something is wrong,” worried Mrs. Weasley.

“I’m sure they’re fine. They got the best healers in the place helping out Harry and Ginny. He is the one who defeated Voldemort. so he’s bound to get some preferential treatment.” Some of the Weasleys shuddered at the name but nowhere near as they used to.

“Mike, could you come over here for a second?” asked Hermione. Mike nodded and followed her a few feet off. “Are you coming, Ron?” she said when she saw him sitting down twiddling his thumbs. Ron looked up and went over to where they were standing.

“What’s going on here? Why did you just show up tonight and why didn’t you want Harry to tell anyone about you?” she asked.

“I have my own secrets that I had to keep hidden. But now’s about time to reveal them. If you will just be a little patient, I’ll tell you all later when Harry is with us.”

“Ok. I have just one more question for you. Earlier, when you said Dumbledore sent you on secret missions during our sixth year; you did mean looking for the horcruxes when he couldn’t, right?”

“Yes. I even got a few destroyed before Harry went after them. I found Huffelpuff’s cup somewhere up in the highlands of Scotland,” answered Mike. “Anymore questions?”

“None that have to be answered right now,” piped in Ron for the first time. They all went back and sat down in their chairs.

“What did you and Harry do when you were out after Voldemort?” asked Fred who was standing against the wall behind Mike.

Mike turned around and looked at him. “Well, just spent a lot of free time joking around and talking. When you’re after a dark wizard you have a lot of downtime. Who did you think kept on sending in all those Owl orders to your and your brother’s shop?”

“That was you and Harry?” asked George, who was standing next to his twin brother. “Damn, you must be rich to spend that kind of money.”

“Like Harry, my parents left me with a lot of money when they died a few years before. I must say, you two know your magic. Me and Harry came up with a few new ideas for the shop but we’ll have to share them later.”

“Cool. We’ll be glad to hear them. If you ever need a job and you’re in town, swing by and we might find some room for you.”

“I might take you up on that offer. I have enough money to live off of for as long as I need to but I could use a little job to pass the time. Me and Harry used to fight with each other using the fake wands. I know it sounds a little immature, but with nothing else to do we had to find some way to pass the time.”

Everyone laughed. They were quiet for a few moments because a healer came through the door, but just walked by and said nothing. Bill was the first to say anything. “What’s it like fighting out there against the Death Eaters and Voldemort?”

“I’m sure Harry told you all the old stories.”

“He always changed the subject when we asked. We eventually gave up,” said Ron.

“Oh. I’ll have to have a talk with him about that,” Mike replied. “Well, there really isn’t too much to say. When I first got here I was doing work for Dumbledore and when I wasn’t, he was showing me some of his better spells. I mostly passed them on to Harry.”

“I remember one of the few stories that Harry told us when he first got back. I liked the one with the dragon,” said Charlie.

“I remember that day. In fact, I still have nightmares about that one. I’ve seen Horntails and Ridgebacks but they don’t compare. That creature was the nastiest thing I’ve ever seen. I’d rather face Voldemort himself, than it again.” Again everyone laughed.

“Any other stories?” asked Mr. Weasley. He was reading that morning’s edition of the Daily Prophet.

“I got one you might like, especially you Mr. Weasley,” he replied. “One night, about a day or two before the final battle, we went to Godric’s Hollow to visit Harry’s parents’ old house. We meant to go there sooner, but kept on getting sidetracked. When we finally got there, we ran into an old friend. We found Voldemort’s snake, Nagini, winding its way around the area. It tried to bite both of us but we kept on dodging it. To make a short story even shorter, the snake was dead when we left that night.”

Everyone smiled, but no one had a larger smile on his face then Mr. Weasley. “I wonder why Harry never said anything about that before?” wondered Mr. Weasley.

Mike didn’t get a chance to reply because the healer that brought Harry through the door came out followed by Harry.

“Oh Harry dear, we were so worried. We saw some healers run in about an hour ago but we didn’t know what was wrong. How’s the baby and Ginny,” said Mrs. Weasley as she got up and walked towards Harry. The healer smiled and put a hand on her shoulder and Mrs. Weasley stopped before she reached Harry.

“Oh don’t worry about that. There was a problem in the Dangerous Bites Ward. Something about a guy that had been bitten by a werewolf few days back.” No on eseemed to notice then Harry was holding the baby in his arms.

“I spent some time in there a few years ago. Bitten by a big snake,” said Mr. Weasley.

The witch smiled and went to sit down next to Mike. She put her head on his shoulder and sighed. “A hell of a first day.”

“Yeah. I’m sure it was. I bet you never thought you would help deliver Harry Potter’s and his wife’s baby.”

Everyone starred wide-eyed at them. Even Harry stood there wondering what was going on.

Mike saw everyone starring at him and laughed. “I probably should have said it earlier. I would like to introduce everyone here to my wife Christina. It’s her first day here. She just transferred in from a hospital in the States.” Everyone starred for a few seconds and then Harry laughed.

“So that’s why you just showed up now. I should have known.” No one said anything because a sound came from the bundle he was holding in his arms.

“Harry, you have the baby with you. Why didn’t you say something?” said Hermione.

“Everyone, I would like to introduce you to me and Ginny’s daughter. Say hello to Emily Lily Potter.”
The truth be told by Marauder24
Chapter 4:

“Wake up Michael,” Christina said while gently shaking him.

“Is it time to get up already?” he groaned while rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.

“Yes. We are already running late. Harry and Ginny are bringing the baby home today. I promised that we would be there.” Christina had grown close to Ginny at St. Mungo’s since the baby had been born. She wanted to be at the Burrow with the Weasley clan when Ginny brought Emily home.

On the other hand, Mike was secretly dreading that day. With the distraction of the new baby, the Weasley’s had seemed to have forgotten that they knew nothing of his past. That couldn’t last forever. He snuck a moment alone with Harry, at the hospital, and they decided that the truth would finally come out that day. When Ron and Hermione heard of their plans they initially objected. They didn’t think that they should distract from the occasion at hand, however they gave in when Mike and Harry had insisted.

Mike showered and dressed in minutes. He went down into the kitchen and saw his wife and son sitting down at the table playing some muggle card game.

“You ready to go dad,” said Stephen when he saw his father standing in the door way.

“Yeah, let’s get a move on. We’re already late as it is. Harry and Ginny have already been home for a couple of hours or so.” Christina nodded, stood up, and walked towards the kitchen fire place with her son in tow. Since Stephen was too young to apparate so they would be using Floo powder to get to the Burrow from their apartment in London.

When they arrived, they found everyone in the kitchen. Harry was holding Emily, and Ginny looked relieved to finally have someone to help take care of her daughter. The rest of the Weasley clan, along with Lupin and Tonks were scattered throughout the room.

“Hi everyone. I’m sorry we’re late but someone just had to sleep in,” said Christina while she threw Mike an accusatory glance.

“Does it always have to be the guys fault?” responded Mike. He was met with an instant response. Every female in the room replied simultaneously with a resounding “Yes.”

“Don’t mind that. I’m glad you three could make it. How are you doing Stephen dear?”

“I’m fine,” he replied sheepishly. Mrs. Weasley had been helping to watch him while Christina was at work and Mike was off doing whatever he was doing.

“How’s fatherhood treating you Harry,?” said Mike as he walked over and gave Ginny a quick hug and Harry a pat on the back.

“Not bad,” was all that Harry replied. It was now or never. They looked at each other and an unexpressed understanding passed between them as they both nodded their heads slightly. Mike went back to his wife and hopped up on the counter next to her. Stephen had gone to sit between Ron and Hermione. They had become his favorite.

“Emily isn’t the only reason we’re here today,” blurted out Harry. Mike nodded in agreement. Everyone looked stunned except for Ron and Hermione. They both knew this was coming.

“What are you talking about?” asked Ginny as she looked up to Harry. He smiled nervously and passed Emily to her.

“We’ve told you all a lot of things in the past. Well for you guys it was Harry,” Mike said as he waved his hand in the direction of the Weasleys. “I’ve told Christina and Stephen everything that they know. The problem is that there has been a lot that we haven’t told you.” Mike looked towards his wife and kissed her on the cheek. Worry and doubt filled his eyes. “I’m sorry for not telling you everything. Harry wanted some things kept secret,” he told her.

“Keep what secret?” asked Christina. Confusion and a hint of hurt were visible in her eyes.

“The real reason Voldemort didn’t die when he attacked me when I was one. The reason why it took a year to defeat him when I knew where he was hiding. Where I went with Dumbledore that night he was killed,” said Harry. Everyone’s eyes were glued to the only two men who fought against Voldemort in the final battle.

“Not to mention why I came over to see Dumbledore when Harry was in school. The reason I stayed behind to join Harry in the fight.”

“You told me that you wanted to see some people that your adopted parents had told you about. Then you told me that you couldn’t stand to know that someone as evil as Voldemort was walking around. You had to play the superhero and fight like you always did,” replied Christina. It looked like she was about to cry. “It was all a lie?”

“Not really. My adopted parents did tell me a lot about Dumbledore. All the stuff about Voldemort was also true. Dumbledore told me that I couldn’t tell anyone my secrets until Voldemort was killed. He had Harry tell Ron and Hermione but no one else. After Harry killed him I tried telling you so many times. I guess since I was keeping this secret for so long that it became easier to keep it inside.”

“It was the same for me. It kept eating away at me. I knew there was no real reason not to tell everyone but I just couldn’t get it out. I just can’t keep it in any longer. I need to tell you everything,” said Harry. Mike nodded in agreement. “Now where to begin?”

“First, I think that we need to get Stephen out of the room. Some of this is going to be way over hie head,” said Mike.

“I want to stay daddy,” Stephen argued but he was soon ushered out into the living room to play with Crookshanks. On his way back to where he was sitting Mike cast locking and silencing charms on all the windows and doors.

“Now we can begin. How about we start with Voldemort? Does that sound good, Harry?”

“Yeah, that’s good. I’m just going to come out and say it. Voldemort didn’t die originally because he used a series of Horcruxes. Basically, what they are is an object that a wizard can use to place a part of his soul in so when his body dies, he doesn’t really die because there are still part of his soul safely stored in those objects. It was obvious that he got his body and powers back. I have to give Ginny some credit with finding one of them.” When Ginny looked confused Harry said, “The diary was one of them. You were possessed by a sixteen year old Voldemort because a part of his soul was placed into the diary when he was sixteen.” Mr. And Mrs. Weasley looked concerned at this. They would never forget that fateful day in the chamber of secrets. Even Emily seemed disturbed by this because she started to cry. She was usually very quite but Ginny silenced her quickly. “I was off searching for the Horcruxes most of the year that I was gone. It took me a while to find them. Dumbledore had some idea where some of them were hidden but he died before he could find all of them. Everyone saw his blackened hand that year. He got that destroying one. The ring that he sometimes wore was one of them. The night he died we were going after one. The problem was that it was a fake. One of his Death Eaters had found it and destroyed it. Apparently not all his Death Eaters were faithful.”

“Which Death Eater was it Harry?” asked Mr. Weasley.

Hermione answered this one. “We don’t know. We only found out that his initials were R.A.B.”

“I left because I had to. I was the ‘Chosen One’. Only I could defeat him, according to the prophecy. I was the only one that could kill him,” said Harry. “I’m sorry that I didn’t tell you all this, but I promised Dumbledore I wouldn’t tell anyone,” he said while looking into Ginny’s eyes. She smiled and Harry knew that everything was going to be okay.

“What about you’re secrets Mike?” asked Christina.

“Harry wasn’t the only one to have a prophecy made about him. I was born in London. My parents weren’t in the Order but they certainly were on their side. Dumbledore told me one day that they were afraid to actually fight but offered him as much help as they could. Apparently they were brainiacs like Hermione here,” he said while waving his hand in Hermione’s direction. “When I was born the same person that made the prophecy about Harry made one about me. In a nutshell it said that I was destined to fight against Voldemort. I was going to be with the one who would bring him down. If I died before I met up with Harry, he would have failed. Voldemort would have killed him and would still be terrorizing wizards and muggles alike.”

“You can say that again. You saved me a couple of times,” said Harry.

“Yeah I did. Especially that time with the dragon,” Mike replied. Both men laughed. “I’m sorry for not telling you sooner Christina.”

She smiled and leaned her head on his shoulder. “It’s okay. I realize why you did it, but if you do something like that again I’ll kick you out on your ass.”

“You don’t have to worry about that anymore.”

“Mike, there is one thing I don’t get. What happened to your parents?” asked Fred. It was miracle that either of the twins have stayed quiet this long.

“Oh that’s easy. When the prophecy was made to them they contacted Dumbledore about it. They all agreed that they needed to get me to safety. They sent me to a couple they knew in the states. Until this day that couple have been my adopted parents.”

“Whatever happened to your birth parents?” asked Christina.

“They sent me letters all the time until one day the letters stopped coming. A couple of days later Dumbledore sent me a letter telling me that they were dead. Apparently, after I was born they became a little more courageous. They didn’t join the Order but they still fought. You would think that since they were so smart that they wouldn’t have gone solo.”

“I’m sorry Mike,” said Christina. Everyone else in the room sighed and muttered their condolences.

“Now that everything is out in the open I have a secret of my own. It’s time for lunch,” said Mrs. Weasley. Everyone laughed and started to eat the sandwiches that Mrs. Weasley was putting on the table while Christina went to go fetch Stephen. All in all, it went a lot better than either Mike or Harry had expected.
An offer he couldn't refuse by Marauder24

Harry was sitting in the Minister’s office. He had received an owl the night before from the Minister requesting this meeting. Things had been hectic in the week since Ginny brought Emily home for St. Mungo’s.

The Minister stood with his back to Harry. “I’m sure you are wondering why I have asked for this meeting?”

“Yeah, I do,” Harry replied curtly. He still remembered how Scrimgeour had approached him at Dumbledore’s funeral.

“Now, now Mr. Potter, no need to be rude. I know we haven’t always seen eye to eye, but I need your help,” replied the Minister, turning to face Harry.

“That would be an understatement. You wanted me to be your own personal mascot.”

“The help that I require of you now is different “,said Srimgeour, ignoring Harry’s last remark. “I’m getting old Mr. Potter. I can’t be the Minister of Magic forever.”

“I’ll celebrate the day you retire. I have a new born daughter at home; so if you don’t mind, could you please hurry this up?”

“I’m going to announce my retirement within the week and I want to endorse you as a candidate for the next Minister. That is if you will accept.”

“You want me to take your place?” When the Minister nodded Harry continued. “Now why would I want to do that?”

“As I said earlier, we haven’t always seen eye to eye but we have more in common than you might think. For instance, our hatred of dark wizards. So what do you say?”

******

The week went by in a blur. Harry was sitting at the kitchen table when the owl appeared with the morning’s Daily Prophet. He paid the owl and instinctively set it down without reading it. He still had lingering memories of the garbage they printed about him in his fourth and fifth years.

There was a loud crack outside his kitchen door that announced someone’s arrival. In seconds Tonks came through the kitchen doorway. She ran up and gave Harry, who was still sitting in his chair, a huge hug.

“What’s going on? What’s this for?” gasped Harry while trying to get a breath or two in through Tonks’ hug.

“Did you see that Prophet. I came here as soon as I saw it.”

“What is going on down here? You woke up the baby, Harry,” said Ginny as she walked through the doorway to the living room. She had Emily in her arms. She was squirming a little but barely making a sound. “Oh Tonks, I didn’t know you were here.”

Harry stood up and went over to his wife. He kissed her on the cheek and took Emily from her. He looked down at his daughter and smiled. He never knew that someone besides Ginny could ever make him so happy. He now knew what his parents felt like when they held him.

Ginny and Tonks hugged and only then did Ginny ask why she was there. “I saw the Prophet and came over right away. This is so exciting,” exclaimed an excited Tonks. She clumsily knocked over a chair.

Ginny grabbed the paper from the table, ignoring Tonks. She stared at the front page and turned to Harry. He had zoned out, playing with Emily. Little Emily was holding on to Harry’s finger as hard as she could. She looked at him held the paper up. Her face showed no emotion. The headline read.

Minister announces retirement. Harry Potter to take his place.

Tonks was the first to say anything. “Why didn’t you tell us you were going for the job? The rumors about Scrimgeour retiring have been going around for weeks, but no one ever said anything about you taking his place,” said Tonks as she got up off the floor.

“We wanted to keep it quiet for as long as possible,” answered Ginny. Tonks looked shocked.

“Well I got to get going. Scrimgeour is going to show me the ropes,” said Harry. With a quick wave, he moved to the door and was gone.

“I should get going too. I have a report that I need to finish before lunch,” said Tonks. Seconds later she was gone too. Ginny was left alone with Emily.

Later that morning Ginny decided to go and see how her mother was doing.

“I haven’t had a decent night sleep since she was born,” said Ginny.

“What did you expect dear,” replied Mrs. Weasley.

“Maybe a little bit of sleep. It’s only going to get worse with Harry becoming minister soon.”

“It is so exciting to have a Minister of Magic in the family,” beamed Mrs. Weasley.

“Yeah, whatever,” Ginny groaned in reply. She was excited for Harry but wasn’t looking forward to even less help taking care of Emily.

“Why don’t you leave her with me and go home to take a nap?”

“I don’t know mum.”

“Ginny, dear, I did raise a whole family. I know how to take care of a baby girl.”

“Ok, ok,” Ginny replied with a yawn. She wasn’t very comfortable leaving her infant daughter alone with anyone else, but if there was anyone she trusted it was her mother. She said her goodbyes and apparated home.

When she arrived home, she wasn’t there alone. Three figures covered in large black robes were waiting for her. Ginny let out a quiet gasp as a red light struck her in the chest.

Harry was sitting in a chair in front of the Minster’s desk. The Minister was showing him how the daily work of the Ministry was run. His eyelids were starting to grow heavy.

“Mr. Potter, I think that will be enough for today,” the Minister said. “After today, I’m confident that the magical world will be in good hands with you as minister. You can always owl me if you need advice.”

“Thank you,” was all Harry said in reply.

“Go home to your family.”

Harry was gone moments later. When he arrived home everything was quiet. He stood outside the back door and before he opened it he realized something was wrong. It was too quiet. There should be a baby crying at least. He opened the door to find the house empty. He went from room to room looking for Ginny and Emily but they were nowhere to be found. He returned to the kitchen thinking that Ginny must have taken her to the Burrow. When he sat down at the table with a bottle of Butterbeer in his hand, he saw a piece of paper that he missed on his first search of the house. On it was written only one line.

“You will never see your precious wife again.”

Harry panicked. What was he going to do? His first instinct was to call an emergency meeting of the Order of the Phoenix. After he sent the messages he made his way to the Burrow. When he arrived there, Mrs. Weasley came running out of the house with Emily in her arms.

“Harry, I got the message. What happened?”

He looked at her and before answering her question he asked one of his own. “Why is Emily here?”

“Ginny came over this morning and left her with me. She needed to get a little bit of sleep. I was worried when she didn’t come back. I was about to go see if she was alright when your message arrived.”

“Oh. When I got home the house was empty. When I saw the note I panicked.”

“What note? Oh never mind, everyone will be here soon” said Mrs. Weasley putting a hand on Harry’s shoulder. Harry looked at her and gently took Emily from her.

A cracking sound behind announced the arrival of someone. It Kingsley Shacklebolt, and Tonks. Seconds later Mike appeared right next to them.

“I got the message. What’s happening?” asked Mike.

“Mike, someone took Ginny.”

“What?” screamed Mike. “When did this happen?”

“I just got back a few minutes ago and found her gone. A message was on the table.”

“Do you know who it was?” asked Tonks.

“No, but I have some ideas. It’s got to be someone who doesn’t want me to be minister.”

“Or somebody looking for revenge. I have to admit the timing is a little funny though,” Mike replied.

“Mike I need your help. I know it is a lot to ask but I don’t know what else to do. While I’m having the meeting I need for you to use some of your old ‘friends’ to get whatever information you can. I need to know where Ginny is.”

“No problem. I’ll get right on it. Goodbye.” He smiled at Mrs. Weasley and said, “Christina will eventually come looking for me. This place and Harry’s house are the first two places she will look. When she shows up, just calm her down and tell her I’ll be back as soon as I can. Hopefully with Ginny.”

She smiled and said, “Be careful.” Mike nodded.

Mike turned to Kingsley. “I could use some help.” Kingsley smiled and went off with Mike.

“Come on inside Harry,” said Mrs. Weasley.

A few minutes later everyone else showed up. They were in a frenzy of discussion when Christina showed up with Stephen. She took one look at everyone in the room and new something was wrong. She sent Stephen in the other room and sat down with everyone else. “What’s going on? Where is Mike?”

Everyone looked at her but Hermione was the first one to answer. “Somebody took Ginny.”

Christina gasped and asked, “What about the baby?”

This time Harry answered. “She’s upstairs sleeping. Ginny dropped her off here so she could take a nap and never came to pick her up.”

“But what about Mike? Surely you told him about this. I don’t see him anywhere. He wasn’t at home.”

Everyone in the room looked at Harry until he said something. “He’s out looking for her. When he was helping Dumbledore he made some useful contacts. They helped us out during our search for the Horcruxes and now I’m hoping they will help find Ginny. Don’t worry, he will be fine. He’s better at this stuff than any Auror I’ve ever met.” Christina nodded and hung her head in her hands. She clearly wasn’t encouraged by Harry’s words.

They talked for hours trying to formulate some plan.

Meanwhile, on a hill in the highlands of Scotland stood a large house. The house was as large as a castle. In the basement a young red headed witch was chained to a wall. Three figures from her past that she never thought she would see again stood in front of her. They were laughing at her misfortune. She let out a scream just after one of the figures pointed their wand at her and said “Crucio”.

Unknown to them, two figures crept around the outside of the house looking for a way in.

You Silly Little Girl by Marauder24
Chapter 6: You Silly Little Girl

Ginny was hovering around consciousness. Sometimes fully aware of where she was, sometimes not. Her captors have been torturing her ever since they brought her here. Wherever this was.

She figured she was somewhere in a basement. Currently, only two of her captors were in the room. She could never forget these two. All the times they, along with Malfoy, had given Harry as hard a time as possible.

She had enough strength to lift her head up and look into the eyes of Crabbe and Goyle. They were smiling at her.

Goyle turned and walked out the door, presumably to get their leader. Her assumption were right. Goyle returned minutes later with another blast from the past. The third captor walked and stood in front of Ginny. Ginny smiled at a face that she never thought she would see ever again. She smiled at the features of her former teacher, Dolores Umbridge.

“So, you’re awake, Mrs. Potter,” said Umbridge.

Ginny was so tired. The semi-constant torture had sapped her of most of her strength, but she had enough for this encounter. “Sorry to disappoint you,” Ginny said, sarcastically.

“Not at all disappointed. Actually, I’m quite pleased.”

“If you don’t mind me asking, why are you doing this?” Ginny asked.

Umbridge seemed to ponder that question for a few moments. Eventually she responded, “Revenge.”

“Revenge?”

“Yes Mrs. Potter, revenge. Harry and his friends, including you, ruined my life. Thanks to that miserable Ms. Granger and your husband, I was nearly killed by those centaurs.”

“Nearly killed. Don’t make me laugh, it hurts to laugh. Oh and by the way, it’s not Ms. Granger anymore. Now it’s Mrs. Weasley.”

“How unfortunate for your family. Anyways, I’ll deal with her later.”

“You want revenge on Harry for only that. If he didn’t get away from you Voldemort never would have been exposed. He might still be alive.”

“No, you silly little girl. It goes far beyond that.”

“I’m not a little girl anymore. If you had went for a fair fight I could have taken any one of you three, probably all three,” she said trying to provoke them.

“You might not be a little girl anymore, but it still goes far beyond the centaurs. When he was named the new Minster, for instance. I should have been the new minister. It shouldn’t have gone to an inexperienced non-Ministry official. It should have gone to someone experienced. Someone like me. Someone who always had the Ministry’s best interest at heart and not a barely of-age liar who put the truth over what’s best for the Ministry.”

“I thought I asked you to not make me laugh. Why would you think you had any chance? Everyone knows that you’re a cruel, miserable, foul woman. Dobby the house elf would have been a better choice than you.”

That was the last straw. Umbridge’s face tightened and she bellowed out the word Ginny was becoming all too familiar with, “Crucio.”

Mike and Kingsley were still creeping around outside. They had made their way to the front door and were figuring out the plan of action. “She is most likely down in the basement,” said Mike. Kingsley only nodded. “What do you think we should do?”

Kingsley only smiled and motioned to the door with his wand. Mike smiled back and said, “Yeah, I’m sick and tired of sneaking around. I think a very forward and aggressive approach would work here. Just got to make sure we’re fast enough.”

“Yeah, that is a problem,” Kingsley replied.

“Don’t worry about that. I have an idea. Well, on the count of three. One... Two... Three.”

Kingsley raised his wand and bellowed out, “Reducto.” The door was blown off its hinges. It landed a few feet into the hallway beyond it. Kingsley, followed by Mike flowed into the hall. Kingsley ran toward the door to the basement, but Mike stopped.

Mike shrugged his shoulder and thought. “Well here it goes.” He pointed his wand at the floor. With a non-verbal spell and a flash of light, a hole below where Mike was standing was blown in the floor. Mike dropped and fell to the floor in the basement.

Crabbe, Goyle, and their leader were in a state of high confusion. Just a minute ago, they were torturing Ginny and the next the front door was being blown to pieces and it was raining wizards.

Mike spotted the unconscious form of Ginny chained against the wall. He sent a spell in her direction. It hit the chains that were keeping her tied to the wall. They shattered and Ginny fell to the ground. Before her captors could recover, he conjured some large couch, for cover, in front of Ginny. He hopped behind it just as the figure pointed their wands and screamed “Stupefy.” Two of the curses went flying into the wall behind Mike and Ginny. Clearly two of the figures weren’t very skilled. However, the third was aimed well, but it hit the couch just as Mike had jumped behind it.

Kingsley chose, just that moment, to appear at the bottom of the steps. He was on the other side of Umbridge, Crabbe, and Goyle. Umbridge noticed this and turned to face him. Crabbe and Goyle rushed forward to engage Mike.

Mike saw this happening and a thought formulated itself in his mind. He raised his wand to the ceiling and screamed, “Reducto.” The ceiling collapsed in front of the two, halting their progress. Two succesive stunning spells came flying through the dust and hit the pair in the chest. When the dust setteled, Mike stood up to help Kingsley. He found that Kingsley was doing just fine and bent down to pick up Ginny.

Kingsley was blocking or dodging every spell from Umbridge. He was toying with her, and having a lot of fun with it. He saw Mike standing with Ginny in his arms wearing an impatient look on his face. Kingsley only smiled and continued on with his little game.

Mike was fed up; he raised his wand and pointed it at Umbridge. With one well placed stunning spell, Umbridge was down.

“What did you do that for?” asked Kingsley.

“Let’s just get this over with. I want to get home to my wife.”

“So? She’s just your wife,” Kingsley said jokingly. He was clearly in a good mood. Nothing like a goof fight to boost a mood.

“When you finally get married you’ll understand my hurry,” said Mike with a mischievous smile. Kingsley only shrugged and the pair, along with Ginny, dissaparated.

Moments later they arrived outside the Burrow. Mike could hear Harry screaming inside. He wanted to know what was going to be done about his wife. A baby was crying as well. Mike nodded and let Kingsley lead the way to the door.

Harry jumped up as he saw Mike coming inside with Ginny in his arms. “What’s wrong with her?” he asked as Mike went into the living room and laid her on a couch. Christina came running forward and started checking her over. It sure is handy to have a St. Mungo’s healer around.

Mike stood up and turned to Harry. “She was being tortured.”
“By who?” Harry demanded.

“I don’t know two of them, but I did recognize their leader. It was Dolores Umbridge.”

“Her Why did she do this?”

“Calm down Harry,” pleaded Hermione. She had just come into the room. “Kingsley just left with Tonks to get her and bring her to the Ministry.”

Ginny started to squirm. She got just two words out. “C-c-c-rabe, G-g-g-oyle.”

“Crabbe, Goyle. Why would they be involved in this?” asked Harry.

“That doesn’t matter. We need to get her to St. Mungo’s right now,” said Christina. She had just finished checking her over and had stood to face Harry. “We can figure everything out later. Just get her to St. Mungo’s as soon as possible.”

Harry nodded and handed Emily, who had been crying the entire time, to Hermione. He picked Ginny up and was gone seconds later.

Christina turned to her husband and sighed. “I’m so happy that she’s back,” she said as she moved towards him. Mike wrapped his arms around her.

He held her for a few minutes before asking, “Is she going to be fine?”

Christina looked at her husband and replied, “I think so.”
He really was worried about you. by Marauder24
Author's Notes:
I'm sorry to say this, but this will be the last chapter. Due to school and the fact that I have some other original projects that I've been working on, I haven't been able to work on the story very often. I also decided to end it here due to difficulty coming up with ideas that would propel the story firther. Again, I'm sorry to say that this is the last chapter. I might one day, write a short epilouge.
Chapter 7:

Harry stood in a doorway watching the healers hovering around the unconscious form of his wife. The healers were casting various spells and brewing a couple of potions. All aimed at healing Ginny. Harry watched every small movement that was made. From the tiniest twitch of a wand to a healer running across the room. He was so engrossed in the goings on of the healers around Ginny that he barely noticed when someone came up to him and took him by the arm, ushering him out of the room into the hallway.

“How is she?” he asked when they were out in the hallway.

The black hair witch responded, “For now, she is ok. We used every spell and potion that we could. She is resting comfortably. She had some internal bleeding from the torture but we stopped that. She is still unconscious though. I think she will be fine. All that remains is to wait for her to wake up.” Harry felt somewhat relieved at the news. “If you don’t mind me asking, Minister, who did this to her?”

Harry got visibly angered at this. The witch started to slowly step backward when Harry said, “It was Dolores Umbridge. Some Minister, I’ve been. It’s only been a week and my wife has been kidnapped and almost killed.” The Witch was shocked to hear Umbridge’s name.

Harry walked past her and went into Ginny’s room. All the healers were gone. Ginny was laying on her bed quietly. Harry sat down next to her and put his hand on top of hers. He sighed and slumped back in his chair. Harry thought back on the events of the past week. From Scrimgeour’s announcement to him to actually taking his office only the day before Ginny was kidnapped. The former Minister was staying on as a temporary advisor. Similar to how Fudge stayed on to help Scrimgeour after he was sacked.

Harry was content to just sit back and wait for Ginny to wake up. Forsaking everything else. He would sit by her side for a lifetime, never leaving, if he had to. He sat there undisturbed until Percy Weasley came barging in.

“Minister Potter, Umbridge, along with Crabbe and Goyle, have been taken into Ministry control. Is there anything else you would like me to do?” he asked.

“Send a team of Aurors to my personal residence and update to protective spells. Make sure that Tonks and Shacklebolt are in the team.”

“Yes, Minister,” Percy replied. Percy looked down at his sister laying on the bed unconscious and asked, “How is she?”

“She should be fine. The healers did everything they could. We just have to wait until she wakes up.” Percy nodded and started to leave. When he was half way through the door, Harry called him back.

“I’ll let her know you were concerned when she wakes up.” Percy nodded and seemed touched, especially after all the grief he had caused for Harry and the rest of the Weasley clan. “And one more thing, you have known me long enough. You can call me Harry when no one else is around.” Percy nodded and left.

Harry resumed his watch over Ginny. He brushed her hair off her face and stared at her. With everything that had happened in the past week, he had almost forgotten how simpily her presence could affect him. The seconds turned to minutes, and minutes into hours. Almost two hours after Percy’s visit, Ginny stirred and opened her eyes. Harry smiling was the first thing she saw.

“What happened?” she asked.

“Kingsley and Mike found you. Umbridge, Crabbe, and Goyle are in custody. Are you ok?” When she nodded her asked, “What did Umbridge kidnap you for?”

“Basically revenge. She said it should have been her and not you that became the new Minister.” Harry’s face contorted with rage. “Has anyone visited yet?”

“Just Percy.”

“I bet he just came to report to you.”

“Yes and no. He did come to tell me that Umbridge and the others were in custody, but he was concerned about you.” Ginny almost looked shocked. A smile came to her face and she laughed out loud. “No, he really was worried about you.”

“Really?”

“Yes. He is your brother after all.”

“Why haven’t mum and dad come by yet?”

“I don’t know. Probably because they’re watching Emily.”

At that very moment the door opened and revealed the whole Weasley clan cramped into the hallway. Leading the way was Mrs. Weasley, with Emily in her arms. Harry stood up and went over to Mrs. Weasley. “Here, let me take her.” She smiled and handed him his daughter. She was sleeping soundly. Harry went back to his chair and sat down. Ginny sat up in her bed and put her hand on Harry’s shoulder.

“I’m so happy you are ok, dear,” exclaimed Mrs. Weasley as she walked to Ginny’s side and hugged her. “How are you feeling?”

“I’m ok. I just woke up a couple of minutes ago. I’m sorry that you had to watch Emily for so long.”

“Ginny, it is ok. We were glad to watch her. She is our grand-daughter after all,” said Mr. Weasley. The rest of the Weasleys came up to Ginny and conveyed their happiness that she was all right and their fury at what was done to her. Before long it was time for everyone to leave. Harry said his goodbye’s and had to ask Mrs. Weasley to babysit Emily for him because he was going to stay overnight with Ginny.

“I’ll be by in the morning. I’ll have to take her into the Ministry with me.”

“Don’t be silly Harry. I’m glad to take her for as long as need be.”

“No. You can’t keep her all the time. I couldn’t do that to you. I have barley seen her lately. With everything from the Ministry responsibilities to the kidnapping.” He looked at his parents-in-laws and smiled. “I’m the Minister. I can do anything I want.”

Mrs. Weasley was ready to insist that she would take care of Emily for as long as Ginny was in St. Mungo’s when Mr. Weasley interrupted. “It’s ok Molly. She will be fine at the Ministry. I’ll check in on her and Harry as much as I can.”

Mrs. Weasley nodded and left with the rest of her family. Harry sat back down. Some time during Harry’s conversation with Mrs. Weasley, Ginny had fallen asleep. He laughed and held her hand until someone knocked on the door frame.

Harry looked up to see Christina standing in the door frame. She was smiling. “How is she?” she asked.

“She’s going to be fine. She woke up earlier. She just fell back asleep.”

“That’s good. Mike and me were going to stop by but we thought it should be a family moment. I just came on shift a couple of minutes ago. I just wanted to stop in and see how she was.”

“She will be fine. I don’t know what I would have done if she didn’t make it. I don’t know how I would have made it alone with Emily and being Minister.”

“There is no need to even think about it. Everything will be fine.”

Harry nodded and said, ‘When you see Mike tell him I said thanks.”

“No problem,” she replied.
