Author's Notes:
Part one! I don't own the lyrics, Our Last Dance. Halifax does and they rock for it. JK Rowling owns the awesome characters.

Please listen to me October
Things will be a little different
Things will be a little different
This September now when nights are long
Let me have this one last dance
She leads me out of the room
She leads me out of the room

It was Bill’s wedding reception. People were dancing and laughing all around. Even Ron and Hermione stood arm in arm swaying to the music. However, only two seemed to be completely miserable. On one side of the dance floor stood a beautiful redheaded woman. She continually threw the other, a dark-haired handsome man, longing sad looks. He stared pointedly in the other direction and pretended not to notice. She slowly waked over to him. He made no acknowledgment of her present until she spoke.

“Harry?” she finally addressed him.

He didn’t quite meet her eyes when he replied, “Hi.”

She looked away again, unsure about what else to say. “Would you like to dance?” she asked suddenly.

“They can see,” he said, barely moving his lips.

“Please-“ she began. It was no longer a request on her part but a command. “Let’s go out into the hall, where no one can see. It won’t hurt.”

He hesitated before taking her hand and following her out.

Get me up and get me moving
I wanna do this one more time before I
go on the road tonight
I’m going on the road tonight
get me up and get me moving
I wanna do this one more time before I
go on the road tonight
I’m going on the road tonight

He slowly put his hands on her waists and held her close.

“Ginny-“ he began uncertainly.

“Is it true then?” she interrupted. “I heard Hermione mention- Are you really leaving?”

He nodded in response. Her face remained impassive, but her grip on his shoulders tightened considerably.

“We’re leaving tomorrow, as soon as possible.”

“Why?”

“I have to end this. I’m going to kill Voldemort so that I can finally live my life.”

She said nothing for a moment. Their pointless dancing slowed to a stop.

“I love you,” she whispered finally. Harry stared in shock. Her words echoed in his head like a broken record. “Please say something,” she begged.

He pulled his gaze away and murmured, “No-“.

Silence rang through the hall as she struggled to comprehend what Harry meant.

“No- what?” she asked, pleadingly.

“NO!” Harry yelled, pushing away forcefully. “NO! You weren’t supposed to fall in love. It wasn’t supposed to be like this. We weren’t- I wasn’t-“ he stammered, struggling with his words. Ginny’s eyes were wide.

“NO!” he screamed again, before turning on his heels and running away. Ginny stared for a moment. She had been so strong until now, that is until tears fell freely from her eyes. Minutes later, she tore after him.

You’re caught You’re all the same
now I never knew I never remembered your name
the walls are closing in
my cigarette is getting smaller
the air is getting thin
it doesn’t seem like there’s much room to do
to do

Get me up and get me moving
I wanna do this one more time before I
go on the road tonight
I’m going on the road tonight
get me up and get me moving
I wanna do this one more time before I
go on the road tonight
I’m going on the road tonight

Ginny swore loudly. She cursed their large house, which provided Harry so many places to flee to. She cursed the crowds for holding her up. She cursed Harry for being so stubborn. She cursed herself and her own emotions for showing themselves. He found out that she loved him and fled the night before he was leaving to kill the darkest wizard in centuries. She could have laughed at the irony if she wasn’t already choking on her tears. It won’t hurt- Had she known just how much she was hurting now beforehand, she never would have said those words. Tears burned at her eyes and throat. “I love you, Harry,” she screamed, hoping that wherever he was hiding, he would hear. “I love you, and I DON’T CARE! I don’t care what dangers it puts me in, but I can’t help how I feel.” She fell to the ground, unable to control herself.

How in the world could this ever happen
face down its happening all again
How in the world could this ever happen
How in the world could this ever happen now
How in the world could this ever happen
face down its happening all again
How in the world could this ever happen
How in the world could this could this could this

Harry buried her face in his hands. Ginny wasn’t supposed to love him. She was supposed to be strong and get over him. They weren’t supposed to be so serious. He thought it was going to be simple and carefree. Worst off, he wasn’t supposed to love her back. He wasn’t supposed to think of her constantly or long to stroke her fiery red hair. He wasn’t supposed to be this upset when he ended it. He knew that it would happen. He wasn’t supposed to dream constantly of taking her back. The words that she said when she asked him to dance echoed in his head. “It won’t hurt.” He laughed bitterly on the inside. It hurt so badly when he pushed her away. He missed her so much, but he was doing this for her sake. His self-control broke, however, when he heard her sob. He hesitantly came out of his hiding place. “Ginny-“ he tried to begin, but she approached him with a blazing tear-stained face, raised her arm and slapped him.

“I LOVE YOU,” she screamed. “Why can’t you say anything?”

“I-I can’t love you,” he spluttered. Ginny sobbed for a minute before she came to her senses. He began to apologize, but she didn’t want to listen. She kissed him hard. As she did, he melted. He encased her in his arms and kissed her back, finally losing his surroundings.

Get me up and get me moving
I wanna do this one more time before I
go on the road tonight
I’m going on the road tonight
get me up and get me moving
I wanna do this one more time before I
go on the road tonight
I’m going on the road tonight

“Er- Harry,” Hermione murmured through the door. “We’re leaving in fifteen minutes.”

Harry jumped up, swearing angrily. He jumped toward his drawers and made to change out of his dress robes from the previous night.

“Harry, please,” she said suddenly. He gasped, having forgotten she was there. She looked tired and miserable. “Let’s just finish our dance.”

Harry smiled half-heartedly and pulled her close, just as he had only hours before. They swayed slowly in the musicless silence.

“I still love you,” she whispered.

“I er- I” he stared at her the same way that he had last night.

“I got to go,” and he took off- again.

Five minutes later, she choked back tears as she dragged her feet down into the kitchen.

“Where were you all night?” she heard Ron ask Harry. She stood outside the door.

“In our room,” she heard him reply, “with Ginny.”

Her brother growled angrily, even as Harry insisted, “We didn’t do anything.”

It was obvious that Ron didn’t believe him when he replied, “Whatever.”

She heard Harry sigh, “We’re just friends.”

Ginny felt her heart break all over again when his words reached her ears. Tears were still falling as she waved them off.

“Goodbye, Harry,” she whispered into the wind as they disapparated. “Be safe, my Love.”

A/N:Okay, so let's get this straight. Harry was still wearing his robes, so before I get flamed, they didn't do anything dirty (sikkos), sorry about that. Its physically impossible for me to keep a straight face for very long. Hope you like part one. If you do, check out my other fics!
CHAOS by QuIDdITch_PlaYA
We could have spent the night.
We're sitting on the floor,
Everything was gonna be just fine.
Missing you, missing me, a thousand times.
Waiting hours for you just to see you.
Here for hours just to hear you scream my name.

“Hurry, Ginny!” Mrs. Weasley yelled up the stairs as the setting sun illuminated the Burrow. “Harry, Ron, and Hermione are on their way!”

Ginny groaned. Ron owled last week with wonderful news. It had been six months and the trio had destroyed almost all of the Horcruxes. However, there was a reason that she dreaded their return- Harry. He ran away from her twice. A part of her- her heart, loved him, but her head- the sensible side of her- hated him. She hated what he did to her, how he broke her heart.

“Ginny?”

Ginny swore under her breath when she heard a familiar male voice behind the door.

“Harry?”

The horribly, yet wonderfully familiar face of Harry Potter entered her room.

“Ginny, I’m-“ he began. She knew what he was going to say, but, to her surprise, found that she didn’t want to hear an apology.

“Don’t apologize,” she muttered. He opened his mouth to retort but closed it again quickly. He smiled hesitantly and took a seat on her bed.

“It’s been so long,” Ginny sighed. “I’ve been waiting to see you, for so long. Now that it’s here it’s like so…“

Harry nodded in agreement as her voice trailed off uncertainly. She knew that he was thinking along the same lines as her. “We’re just friends,” he had told her brother before leaving.

“Are we ‘just friends’ then?” she asked.

He didn’t seem surprised by her sudden question. “Actually, I’ve been thinking about, well- my feelings for a long time. I care about you, a lot, but with the confusion and- everything, I don’t know.”

“I still love you,” she whispered, as her heart sank little by little.

His hand gripped hers very tightly, though he said nothing. Ginny knew exactly what he was struggling to say, so she replied, “I missed you, too.”

No more nights. Take these used tissues and cry for me.
I'm begging you to let me in for one; one more night.

She looked at him solemnly for a minute before asking him another question. “Are you scared?”

This time, he hesitated before answering. “All the time.”

“You don’t show it,” she said quietly, as if voicing his fears for him. “You’re always so strong.”

He didn’t look at her as he replied, “I’ve learned to live with it.”

“You can’t get used to fear,” she said, her tone now growing fierce. “I’ve been scared for you. Everyday, I’ve been worried that I might never see you again. I’m afraid every moment that I could lose my best friend, my brother, and you. I haven’t gotten used to it and neither have you.”

He looked at her in shock for a moment before dropping the walls around his heart. His shoulders shook as he let the tears that he had held back for seventeen years fall onto Ginny’s warm and welcoming arm.

I can spell your name with guilt.
I can sing all the songs I know you want to hear.
At the end of the night this will be between us.
'Cuz I know that all of this time was wasted.
I can't pretend, 'cuz I can taste it.
You know if I could go back, then I would.
And I wish I could.

Ginny allowed him to cry out his heart on her shoulder. She missed his warmth and was grateful at a chance to have him back. She knew that she could have used this moment to unleash the frustration that she had felt while he was gone, but she found that she didn’t have any of those feelings now. All she wanted was to spend the short amount of time with him in peace.
When his sobs had stopped, he looked over at her and slowly, but resolutely, leaned in to kiss her. As their lips met, she knew that they weren’t “just friends”, they were much more than that. They had a connection- a connection that she intended to keep.

No more nights. Take these used tissues and cry for me.
I'm begging you to let me in for one; one more night...
No more nights. Take these used tissues and cry for me.
I'm begging you to let me in for one; one more night.
One last night. No more nights. Take these used tissues and cry
for me.
I'm begging you to let me in for one; one more night.
One last night. One more night with you.

Ginny sighed as they pulled away. “I’ve missed that.”

Harry hesitated. “Me, too.”

“I’m glad.”

He looked shocked. “What do you mean?”

“I’m glad you at least missed something we shared.”

He nodded sadly and averted his gaze. She rested her head on his shoulder and smiled ruefully.

“I’ll always be here for you, Harry.”

“Okay,” he replied, returning the smile. He wrapped his arm around her shoulder. “Thanks.”

“No problem,” she murmured.

Hours later, long after the sun had set completely, Ginny blinked groggily. “Did we fall asleep?” she asked Harry, who was staring at her, only half awake.

“Yeah,” he replied quietly. She was relieved that he was a lot more relaxed about waking up with her that he had the last time. Things are different.

“The war changed us,” she said.

“What makes you say that?” he asked.

“You can’t deny it. We’re different. It’s subtle and it doesn’t really matter, but I have a feeling that everything has changed.”

He didn’t say anything, but Ginny sensed that he felt the same way. Things are and were going to be different.

“Before I forget,” she said, grabbing a bracelet from her bedside table, “I made this for you, while you were gone.”

Harry took it, smiling slightly. “What is it?”

“It’s called a Promise Ring. Hermione taught me how to make it. When you wear this, you’re making promise for me.”

He held out his arm, signalling to her that she should tie it on. “What am I promising you?”

She tied the knots loosely around his wrist. “While I made this, I made the promise that I would be there for you if you needed me. And while you wear this, can you promise me that after all of this, you’ll return to me?”

Harry nodded earnestly. “After the war is finished, I’ll be there for you- no matter what it takes.”

She grinned at him. Somehow, she knew that in the end, things would be all right.

**************************************************************

The next morning, Ginny waved Harry off, along with Ron and Hermione feeling happy to have patched things up with Harry and the others, but also a reluctance to see them off again.

Harry smiled at Ginny. Hermione and Ron seemed shocked at the show of his positive emotions. Apparently, a smile had been rare on Harry’s face as of late. He turned his back to the Burrow after bidding farewell to Mrs. Weasley and Ginny. He clenched his fists in determination. He was going to do this. He was going to destroy the last Horcrux and finally tell Ginny how he really felt. He made the promise, and the bracelet around his wrist wasn’t coming off until he could go through with it. In his head and heart, he knew he could do it. He was going to destroy the Horcruxes and bring down the one who had kept him from his life- his love.

Five down. One to go.

A/N: Sorry this is so short, but when I titled this the Halifax Triplet, I was referring to the musical definition of triplet. A Triplet is three short, concise note in quick succession. I have the Short and concise down… I just need to improve on the “in quick succession” part >_>; FYI, the Promise Ring is taken from Sailor Moon... lol me and my anime obsession…

Ron, Hermione and Harry ran through the deserted streets of Hogsmeade. Death Eaters had discovered what they were doing and were hot on their tails. The only things that now protected the trio were the shielding products that Fred and George sent to them and their advanced knowledge of the village. They hid in a dark alleyway, covered by the shadows.

“Do you have the Horcrux?” Harry asked, panting slightly.

Ron nodded, pulling out the dead body of the snake, Nagini, which Hermione shrunk to fit into his pocket for their escape.

“This is it," Harry said conclusively. "Go to Headquarters. Get the Order’s help."

The shouts and crashes of the Death Eaters were drawing closer.

“Harry, what are you saying?” Hermione asked, eyes wide.

“I’ll fight the Death Eaters and hold them off until the Order shows. Maybe I’ll even get the kill Voldemort now.”

“Harry, you can’t fight them alone-“

“Don’t be stupid-“

He interrupted their arguments by holding out a parchment envelope. “Give this to Ginny,” he said, not looking them in the eye. Before either one of them could protest again, he thrust a letter, along with a Portkey to Grimmauld Place, into their hands. They vanished, leaving Harry alone and ready.

Start back at start so I know where to go

Hermione and Ron landed in the Headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix with a loud thump.

Mrs Weasley screamed, setting some of the portraits off, but they were ignored as the Order ushered them urgently into the kitchen. The moment they were seated, they were bombarded by questions, before they could even ask for help.

“Why are you home so soon?” Moody prodded.

“What happened?” Molly cried.

“Where’s Harry?” Remus asked, his face pale.

Hermione promptly burst into tears, causing the entire room to go silent.

Moody, always assuming the worst, muttered, “He didn’t-“

“No,” Ron interrupted hastily. “He forced us here and stayed to fight-“ He choked on his words.

Hermione shoved the snake forward. “It’s the last Horcrux,” she whispered. “That’s why the Death Eaters were after us. They found out.”

There was a collective gasp. “Horcrux?” someone hissed incredulously.

“There’s no time to explain now!” Ron exclaimed frantically.

“Where were you?” Mr Weasley asked.

“Hogsmeade,” Hermione replied quickly.

Without another word, nearly everyone left the room to help Harry. The room was left empty, except for Ron, Hermione, and Ginny, who looked desperately miserable.

“Is he okay?” she asked in a hushed whisper.

“He’ll be fine. He always is,” Ron told her, wishing he was as confident as he sounded. He gave her the envelope that Harry had given them for her.

She opened it with a curious expression on her face. As she read, her eyes misted up. When she finished, she dropped the letter listlessly and Disapparated. Unable to stop herself, Hermione reached down and read the letter. She could feel Ron reading over her shoulder.

Ginny,

There’s something that I’ve tried to tell you for a long time. It may be that I’m a coward, but I haven’t told you because I didn’t want you to have to fight in the war. I didn’t want to have to lose you. I know that it was selfish. You’re probably thinking that as you read this because now there’s the chance that you’ll lose me. I only wrote this letter in case there was the possibility that you would, because I wouldn’t be able to stand the thought of not telling you. I love you, Ginny. I know that you’re strong enough to fight, but I'm scared to lose you. I just hope that I am strong enough, too, so that I can tell you to your face. I’ll forever keep my promise to you. I’ll be there for you, even if not physically.

I love you.

Harry

Hermione gasped. Ron gaped. Harry finally admitted his true feelings, in a letter no less. Ron gripped Hermione’s arm and said, “I’m going to Hogsmeade to fight. I’m going to help Harry and my sister be happy.”

Hermione nodded grimly in agreement. They both Disapparated to the village, where war was already raging.

Ginny was fighting nearby with a huge Death Eater. Ron joined in to help her. With his help, they overcame him by stunning and binding him up. Before any other Death Eaters came, Ginny looked around. Suddenly, she gasped and picked up a frayed and singed bracelet- the one that she gave to Harry just a week ago. It was dirty and falling apart.

Hermione stared in shock, fighting back tears as she recognized it. Since leaving the Burrow, Harry had refused to take it off; now it lay abandoned in the heat of a battle.

Before Hermione could stop her, Ginny took off into the battle in search of Harry.

Can it be we’re on top of the world
From now on I can see
From a distance I can see the end
Can it be were on top of the world
The stranger feeling crawling up my arm
Into my heart

Meanwhile, Harry knew the time had come. He was fighting the Death Eater called Alecto, when pain shot through his scar and he knew that Voldemort had arrived. Alecto ceased his attack as the Dark Lord approached.

“He’s mine,” Voldemort hissed in his cold, high-pitched voice.

Harry’s scar throbbed painfully but did his best to ignore it as he prepared himself to end the War at long last. He would be with Ginny. He was going to win.

“Prepare to die, Potter,” Voldemort sneered, raising his wand. He wasn’t going to play around. He wanted to kill him. Harry raised his wand, hoping to create Priori Incantatem. It was his only hope at this point.

“AVADA KEDAVRA.”

Before Harry could utter his spell, a flash of red hair filled his eyes as the spell hit Ginny. She looked at him with tear-filled eyes. “I love you, too, Harry,” she whispered, before closing her eyes.

“NO,” Harry gasped in horror, clutching Ginny’s limp form. Her hands were growing steadily colder.

Start back at start so I know where to go
We’ve made it this far no turning back now
Six days and all I can think about
Six days and all I can think about is you
Start back at start so I know where to go
We’ve made it this far no turning back now
Six days and all I can think about
Six days and all I can think about is you

It seemed as though history was repeating itself. A beautiful red-haired woman sacrificing herself for Harry’s sake. But this time it was different. He was going to end it at long last. He was going to finish it.

Time seemed to slow itself as the truth sunk in.

“Ginny,” he whispered into her cold body, “I’m sorry. I should have protected you. I should have told you sooner.”

Voldemort was approaching, his face contorted with rage.

“I love you, Ginny. I hope you can hear me, because I made a promise. I’m going to be with you, no matter what it takes.”

He suddenly understood the power of sacrifice and of love. He felt strength surge through him. He was going to join Ginny. He could feel it within him, but he wasn’t sad about it. He was actually happy.

Voldemort’s face was twisted in anger and confusion as a brilliant light emanated from Harry, who was still clutching Ginny’s lifeless form. The force of the unspoken spell sent Voldemort crashing to his death, illuminating his body for all to see. A beautiful, clear song rang through the air- a phoenix song. It strengthened the Order, those pure of heart. Death Eaters froze at the sight of their master’s downfall. The Order rounded up the rest of the dark wizards, before turning to where Harry lay, arm-in-arm with Ginny. He had used the last of his magic to defeat Voldemort. He was dead.

Hermione broke down, burying her face in her hands. Mrs Weasley was kneeling next to Harry and Ginny, smoothing out their robes, sobbing loudly. Remus comforted Tonks, while fighting not to lose it as well.

“He wanted this,” Ron choked out, after a long silence. “He wanted to fight Voldemort and die if he had to. He wanted us to live normal lives.”

Yeah it’s over now
From my head down to my legs
From my head down to my
And now it’s over now
From my head down to my legs
And now it’s over now
From my head down to my legs

In the end, Harry got his wish. Hermione, who taught Ancient Runes at Hogwarts when it reopened, married Ron, an Auror-in-Training. Remus and Tonks also got married. They had lives. None of them had ever dreamed that one day they would be living the way they were, without the lingering fear of Voldemort, but also, without Harry and Ginny.

Every week, without fail, on-lookers could see the Weasley family, short of one red-haired girl, Hermione, Remus, and Tonks walk through the cemetery to a place where two headstones stood together.

Ginny Weasley (1981-1997)

"Love is like the wind. I can't see it, but I can feel it."

Harry Potter (1980-1997)

"For one human being to love another; that is perhaps the most difficult of all our tasks, the ultimate, the last test and proof. The work for which all other work is but preparation."

Both were covered in flowers and gifts from many different people. The group that was gathered around the two headstones would lay down their flowers and gifts, along with a letter talking to Harry and Ginny about their week and their lives. They didn’t know what happened, but every week the gifts and letters disappeared mysteriously. This angered them at first, thinking that someone came and robbed their momentos, but after setting up security spells all around the two headstones, they found that the letters just sort of vanished. They knew that, wherever they were, Harry and Ginny were watching over them.

Cornered with my back against the wall
The lights are dimming by the minute
Can someone call my other self?
Let them know I’ll be just fine
Cornered with my back against the wall
The lights are dimming by the minute
Can someone call my other self?

Let them know I’ll be just fine
Cornered with my back against the wall
The lights are dimming by the minute
Can someone call my other self?
Let them know I’ll be just fine

Harry smiled. He was reading the letters that the Weasley’s, Hermione, Remus, and Tonks left.

“So they’re all right?” Ginny asked, reading over his shoulder.

“Of course,” Harry replied. He looked up at her, his eyes shining. He swore that he would be with her, and now he had kept it. But he was not alone. When he opened his eyes, he found himself with Ginny in his arms, surrounded by his parents, Sirius, and Dumbledore- everyone he had ever lost. He was now the guardian angel to the people who had watched over him for so long. Things would be better, for everyone.

A/N: Okay, so this short little, not such a trilogy, but a triplet type thing, but not really… anyway, it’s done. So what do you think? No flames please. The first quote is from A Walk to Remember. I don't know where the first quote is because it was on my friends AIM profile. IF anyone can tell me where its from, I'd really appreciate it.
