1. An Unexpected Turn by Nagini Riddle

An Unexpected Turn by Nagini Riddle
An Unexpected Turn

The world is falling;
The ground had opened up,
Revealing wisps of
Hot green flames.
The heart plummets fast;
The body melting,
Squeezed into the tiniest
Grain of sand-
Cannot breathe,
Will never breathe.
An alien sensation
Riddles the addled mind-
Fear,
Apprehension,
Horror
At the all too
Fantastical vampiric
Materialization
That reflects him
In very manner.
But who?
Who?

Vengeance curls
This figure's smile;
Murder is in his
Red pupils
That gleam hungrily;
Revulsion etched
In those carved features.
But nothing seems to
Register-
Fact and fiction blur.
Mutiny is all that
Faces these terrified
Stupefied eyes.

An odd silence
Has fallen,
Thick with rage,
Emanating with
Fear,
Suffocating.
The ears ache
For a sound-
Anything to ensure
What is happening.
A swift movement
Suddenly of a long
Wooden stick;
Explodes with
Bright green light,
Evil in its nature,
And a roaring
Fills those ears who
Now want it to stop.

The last thing heard
Is rushing death;
The last thing seen-
A darkening,
Mottled abyss spotted
With dark heavy greens;
The last thing tasted-
Hot blood as shaking
Teeth bite down
On a frozen
Tongue;
The last thing felt-
The world falling down
Down
Down
Down...
End Notes:
My pet snake is quite hungry, but she only feeds on reviews!
