1. An Empty Photograph by Nagini Riddle
An Empty Photograph by Nagini Riddle
An Empty Photograph
Along the velvet draped walls,
Framed by cream, crowned molding,
Secured by a permanent charm:
An empty photograph.
Splashed by the brightest blue
And streams of heavenly light,
A pure white horizon visible in
The glorious distance.
A streak of scarlet flashes
Across the clear, blessed sky,
Red plumage fiery in some
Unseen illuminate rays.
A melody filling the pictured scene,
Slow, musical, but magnificent, peaceful
As the creature of hope recedes off into
An awaited journey.
Beckoning, this image, so simple,
A sign of that triumphant day
When ash no longer rained, the wind
No longer drained joy, the atmosphere
No longer a suffocating weight; and poses on
The silken walls,
A strong, silent, melodious reminder of
That relieving moment their new, adventurous
Lives started, no longer dying among the brave,
Valiant corpses again.
End Notes:
Sometimes starting over can be a blessing, and I'm sure it was difficult for those in the Wizarding world to move on. Yet, there is always hope, and this is the message I wanted to convey. :)
