Today I Do Not Want To Be Ginny

Today I do not want to be Ginny-
The youngest of seven children,
Heir to the second-hand robes.
I do not want to be her-
The voices screaming in my head;
The periods of blackness so daunting,
And desperation sets in to try to stay in control.
But Ginny is victim to the diary,
Victim to the persuasion,
To the guilt and hesitation.
Today rooster feathers and poster paint
Cover my old and greying robes.
Today Percy says I look terrible and
Need to visit the nurse,
And the voices refuse to go away.
I do not wish to be Ginny
Because my dreams have been dashed
Against the hard stone walls;
My soul is petrified from the madness
Coursing throughout this girl's body.
And today I do not have a choice-
My skeleton will remain in the chamber forever.
