Sacrificium by Nagini Riddle
Sacrificium

There are
Special powers that Evil himself
Could not attain, could never harness,
For he is narcissistic, and ever miserable-
They lie within the tiny heart,
Sweet, innocent, full of love.
The power of the sun blossoms
Within, and true sacrifice is
A giving tree, willing to spread
Itself thin for the joy of one man.

In the darkest realms, joy
Is not cherished, love is
Misconstrued. The overlord is
Cruel and vicious; there exists
Only an endless abyss inside
His soul. He is the snake,
Hissing into the ears of followers,
Persuading with promises
Of riches and power. But he seeks
Only destruction, only misery,
Only immortality.

Hidden treasures of the heart
Manifest in the young, the brave,
The man who will learn wisdom.
He does not fear death, seeks only
Love, willing to give for
A brighter future. He is everlasting light.
Darkness retreats from his presence,
Never strong enough to smother
The flame.

The great mysteries
Tip in favor of the light, endow
The better man with graces the
Dark knows not. And in the last
Act of love is evil conquered, vanquished
To the deeps forever.
