Champagne Year
The news forgets that they are only children. Tapping hands on tapping glass, everyone wants everything to do with them in this champagne year. There are parties with bubbly drinks and remnants of halcyon days gone by.
After gods are hurt, they bleed ichor, and everyone sees the three of them as gods, now. Slashing and slicing at their throats for a chance of another news story, for a chance to prove all those disbelievers wrong. Tapping hands on tapping glass, like they are animals in a zoo. Like the drinks at the parties, they bubble up rhythmically. Tap tap tap.
They dodge and weave but they cannot unhear the tapping. They cannot escape this champagne year, the year where they are wanted for all the right reasons.
