I currently live in the great state of South Dakota. Why do I live in a place with such nasty winters, I don't know. Since most of my family lives far away in more exotic places than I do, my life revolves around my four dogs, Sampson, Raphael, Seamus, and Mayhem. They are a min-pin, a toy poodle, a teacup Malti-Poo, and a Great Dane, respectively.
I've always had a fascination with the mental illness aspect that characterizes Bellatrix Black Lestrange. My first story is her story. On one site I was sorted into Ravenclaw but I think the hat made a mistake. Most days I feel like a Slytherin!
Nominated for a Quicksilver Quill for Best Romance-Non Canon 2007, 2008, and 2009. In 2010 mods changed the rules (they got tired of the same fics being nominated ^_~) so no more QQ hopes, but that's okay. No proof is needed that Draco/Ginny = love.

Damn, I bumped the submit button too soon. I was about to say that you're right--if you look at a character from the outside, as an objective observer, they often don't look as good. Like Harry with Luna. Tomorrow we're going to see "Sherlock Holmes" and do some shopping. It's really cold but it should be a fun trip. There's nothing like going to a movie on a weekday in the afternoon. The height of luxury. Then some last minute shopping. It's too bad it's too old for me to go out and watch the moon. I like it best when it's real red or orange and then you look to the east and go "what is that" and it's the moon. Oops I'm getting carried away:P I'll see you at some point tomorrow. Fun chapter.

That was wonderful. I always love watching Narcissa and Eddy. That was one of my favorite parts. Blaise drives a hard bargain but we know where she gets that from. Another favorite part was when Ginny and 'Colin' kept getting caught kissing by Ron and Hermione--I'm giggling thinking about it. Geez, were Ron and Hermione following the other two around. I audibly gasped when 'Draco' tried conniving Blaise into kissing him. That was very tricky of the boy. I loved the part towards the end when the group about to vacation in Spain got together and cooperated to get their stories straight and their work done so they could go and have a good time. That was a super display of planning ability and you know how I love planning. Great chapter. I'm trying to convince myself that I should do some work on Ch. 1. Would you believe it's blizzarding again? I think the boys and I will settle in and watch a movie this afternoon. When I feel like sitting around I try to indulge myself:D
Author's Response: Thank you for liking the planning (although you're biased, heh). I think you need to plan your first chapter, just a rough outline/short list of events you want to happen. Sometimes it helps get things started, even if you end up veering from your plans. Have fun watching the snow!
I'm sure the last thing Ginny wanted was to be rescued:) Thank goodness it wasn't Ron. I hope she has nice dreams. I'm kind of surprised that Blaise let Draco hex Terry the way he did. Although I guess hexes can be reversed. I was thinking of a time about 10 years ago. My son had beautiful long hair--almost down to his waist. He was living with me while attending college at USD and I taught there. One morning I woke up and he had shaved his head. It was a strange thing to behold since he'd had long hair for most of his life. He was a rugby player for USD and he said his hair kept getting in the way. I think he might have been getting tired of it too. I'm listening to Muse right now and I have a feeling they wrote some of these songs for a movie. I'm thinking they might have wrote them for The Host. I heard that was being made into a movie. I can't wait to see if I'm right. I know Stephenie Meyer loves Muse. Great chapter.

No, "Rescue Me" is the last song Ginny would sing in that situation. That Blaise let Draco hex Terry (even though it could be reversible) proves she's correctly sorted into Slytherin, despite Hufflepuff tendencies. :D

Yay for Ginny doing something about the gossips. How fun to serenade Terry. I don't know how those two are coping when they can't be together. I remember the original "All I Have to Do is Dream." Keep in mind that my mother's youngest sister was a teenager in the 50s and I adored her and spent a lot of time with her. I remember a lot of songs from when I was about 3 years old on:) As a tiny girl I could sing along with the Everly Brothers (Don and Phil, right?)--vinyl of course. I liked Tonks' class activity. Draco was trying so hard to behave himself. I loved his journal of "good deeds." What's up with Captain Hook? Maybe he was Professor Smalley's (sp?) gay lover. Snape's not gonna go for him bothering Lorelei. Great chapter.

That was wonderful and now it's over. I think my favorite part was when Draco took Lucius' advice and used it to his own advantage. I loved that he could turn into a ferret and get past the wards and protect Ginny. I also loved the concept of shadow walking. I was going "Thank you Lucius." Finally, I loved the part where Draco, as a ferret, led Marisol into the dragon's lair. I could see Ginny picking him up and him biting and scratching, not knowing who had him. This was a long and very enjoyable journey. You could say it was epic. I don't know how you wrote all that but thank you. I loved every second of it. I'll see you somewhere close by soon.

That was a fun chapter. I could picture the faery ring and faeries. It was like watching a movie. Lorelei sounds like a very strange, perceptive person--like she has more divination skills than Trelawney has. I hate it when strange smells make me sick. What movie did you watch last night? I was almost tempted to watch HBP again but I resisted. I can't promise about this afternoon though. I should be off to see Sherlock Holmes but I think I'll still be snowed in today. I do think the wind's gone down--it doesn't feel as cold. Fortunately there are matinees all next week. I might even see Avatar again. Then, I think I'm done with movies for a while. I don't think there's anything real enticing coming out. Thank you for the idea about the turtle quilt and a children's book. There are some other odd things associated with that quilt that could be woven into a story. I've got a couple of assignments for myself to take me through tomorrow. There's a short grant proposal due on the 31st that I could finish and I should draft my query letter for Fynn's book. I've read his characterization and viewpoint book, and a few of his novels, so I know I'll like his style, although I'm more interested in fantasy than SciFi.

That was a very long chapter, but wonderful. The characters had a way better New Year's Eve than I did. I don't know how you keep everyone straight when they're taking polyjuice potion:) I was so afraid that Harry was going to be more attracted to Ginny and then broken hearted--so I'm glad he burst into laughter after kissing her. It was really funny when 'Blaise' called Eddy "Mum." I thought the poor woman was going to keel over. It was cute how the Zabini parents were such maniacs for each other:P I loved that Severus and Lorelei were at the party and that Severus felt moved to be disguised:D I chuckled when Wesley accompanied his Dad to the party to prevent him from dancing on the table and singing "You've Lost That Loving Feeling." I chuckled even more when he admitted to doing it once before, so conceivably it could happen again. Well, it's Jan. 4th and I'm back at work. It was a strange but productive day. I went to bed last night thinking that there was no school due to a notice on TV. I slept in, lollygagged around, and finally called to see if anyone was at work because I wanted to go and pick up some papers to work on. Anyway, the notice was a misprint--only the elementary school was closed, so everyone was late for work and a number of students didn't come to school. I arrived at work 2 hours late as did many others. Pretty crazy, huh? You know, I wrote the last chapter of my story because I could really "see" it. The second chapter is real obvious too. I guess I'm writing them first because they're easy--then I can say to myself "You've really written a lot. You can write more." It's a strange but true fact that sometimes I read backwards too. I sometimes start at the back of a newspaper or a magazine and read forward. I also read upside down. I'm just an odd nut:D

I had four point of view characters and wrote without my inner editor constantly whispering in my ear. I could never pull off an epic now, but I'm glad I did once upon a time. :D
I always get a kick out of making parents hot for each other. Icks out some readers, but really they should take it as a hopeful vision of the future. You don't have to become asexual after marriage--that's just the view children prefer to have, heh.
Two hours late is better than never! Schools here have Planning Day on Mondays after holidays so kids don't go back until Tuesday. I think it's better for morale all around. ;)
Reading from the back of a paper/magazine isn't the same as reading from the end of a book forward. That would be true nuttiness. Reading upside down...did you ever dream of becoming a spy or a private detective?
I smiled at Snape wandering around in the dark again--or I should say, looking for people in the dark. How sweet for Luna to get distracted by Harry casually saying he liked her. I chuckled at her imagined news headlines. I had to shake my head at Draco and Ginny, stuck under the Slytherin table and Ginny's boldness. No one's going to believe this relationship:)Well, your readers will but their friends won't. I made some progress today. I straightened some things out in my bedroom. That has been a room that I open the door and throw things in. Shocking, but true. Then I watched HBP in the afternoon. Late this afternoon, I finally went upstairs to what I call my "studio" and actually got some quilt borders sewn together. That doesn't sound like much but I haven't been upstairs for about a year--since before I broke my leg--so even just going up there and looking around would've been good. I have to get used to going up there and working again. Tonight I want to pull out my papers for that small grant. I applied, successfully, for that same grant three years ago so I have the writing I already did. I just need to change the focus a bit. I hope to get that done tomorrow since I probably won't be able to get out until Monday. If I can get a draft done of my query letter that will be really good. I'd say Fynn's book is a good half to three-fourths done. I just need to get a start on stuff. I think I finally realized that I am pretty much over my broken leg so it's time to get back into everything. I will keep your advice with regard to the query letter in mind. Pretend it's for someone else--and it is--it's for Fynn. Great chapter.

That seems to be a trend for me, having Snape go hunting in the dark, heh. Absolutely, this won't be an instantly accepted relationship. It won't even be an instantly proclaimed one. I had some readers when it was posting want that to happen, but I think I eventually convinced them the way it happens is better...and more believable (at least in this dimension of the Potterverse). ;)
Wow, to go up there again and work after such a long time is cause for celebration! I'll have to pour some Diet Dr. Pepper into a champagne glass and raise it in a toast since I don't have champagne and any other glass wouldn't do the occasion justice.
Fynn is worthy of a large grant, :), but even a small one will be a triumph in this economy. Write well and prosper!
Gosh, I'm curious about all of the cliff hangers. I did not expect Marisol to be the raven. You'd think Auntie Bella would've taught Draco to Crucio and mean it. That just shows how nice he really is. Too bad they have to go all the way to Romania to escape. Although, i think volunteer work is good for people. What does Luna's dad know? I felt so bad for Blaise but what else could she do. I don't think she did anything wrong in taking charge of her own money and property. Are you really going to solve the mystery of the gum wrappers at St. Mungo's? I've always wondered about those and now I'm getting obsessed:D Great chapter and as always, jam packed with wonderful stuff. You are my writing hero. Professor Hook is kind of creepy. Are you sure he didn't have the hots for Stuart? I like Gushers almost as much as I like Howlers:) I can just hear Eddy's voice gushing--and I've never really heard her voice, but I can imagine. The invisibility cloaks are a great idea. I chuckled at Blaise's antics as she snuck up on people and Luna's comment that she really didn't mind appearing to be talking to herself. Oh why did Hermione have to look in the wrong drawer? I hope things work out when Ginny tells her parents about Draco. I loved her dream when Draco came to the Burrow. Lots of fun stuff in this chapter. Loved it:)

You are truly evil bringing up poor little Fynn's book:D I forgot to take my own advice--I think I was explaining that to Demelza earlier today. I stand here, chagrined. Anyway, I always thought that the gum wrappers were from someone giving the Longbottoms gum--but who was giving them gum? It's not like they had daily visitors. Then, I took it as a symbol that Neville's parents were giving him something--it was meant to be a sad, pathetic gesture--all his mother had to give him was a gum wrapper. I've actually seen things like this happen. Yet, it was odd. You know what else was weird and I was left going "What the hell?" was in book 7 when Ron got basilisk poison out of the Chamber of Secrets. I have to go back and read but for some reason he had to speak parselmouth so he just did???? What was that about? I'm still embarrassed about the Fynn issue and he's sitting here looking at me, accusingly. Heck, he can't tell his story. It's up to me and I dropped the damn ball. You know, I avoided the art teacher at parent conferences the other day. I didn't want to discuss illustrations. I'm a sad, sad person:D

I really liked this chapter. I felt kind of sorry for Draco. I know he's not used to asking girls out and having them turn him down because they don't want to be seen with him. Why is it that drinking always seems like a good solution to one's problems but it never is. I'm surprised that Blaise and Draco being in bed together hasn't spread through the castle--although there's still time I guess--house elves gossip too don't they. I really chuckled at the thought of Luna leaning far out in the stands to watch Harry fly and having to be pulled back in by her scarf. I just noticed the Law and Order SVU show with Carol Burnett is on--talk about a relationship between a nephew and his aunt!! I can assure you my relationship with my nephew is nothing like that one!! I chuckled again when Ron asked about the chocolate mousse. Hermione could be taking these opportunities to educate the boy:P Luna's comments are always so funny. I love her in the movies too. I would love to read some of your earlier work--as you offered. I realize I'm going to run out of your writing at some point. Maybe when I do run out of things. I'll miss my conversations with you, although maybe by that time you can comment on my written efforts. Well, it's that time of evening to get my little guys ready for bed and me too, I love getting ready for bed, with my big fluffy robe, when it's cold out. I had to stop watching Law and Order/CSI shows. I loved the mystery and human drama, but all the man's inhumanity to man got depressing. I don't read Patricia Cornwell anymore, either. I want to stay more romantic than cynic. :)
We'll just have to talk via emails versus reviews/replies, about writing, and weather, and cabbages and kings, and why the sea is boiling hot and whether pigs have wings. :D
Blaise is so kind. She did so many things for so many people. I'd be exhausted if I was her. There are so many things to comment on that I think I'll comment on my favorites. I couldn't believe Blaise helped Ron learn how to kiss! And then to be caught by Fred and George. That was funny. I also liked how Blaise handled Luna's dad and the gift she gave him. Taking Luna out shopping was so wonderful. It was great that Wesley was at the club and sang with Luna. When's Luna going to realize she loves Wesley? Minky sounded so adorable. While I loved the entire chapter those were my favorite parts. Well, we went to see "Sherlock Holmes." I really liked it. There was dry, quick humor. The actors were attractive. An elaborate mystery was solved. Black magic was involved and then discounted. There were times I came out with unabashed laughter--and then looked around and said "where did that come from?" Seriously, I just laughed out loud at times. I won't see it multiple times like I did with Harry Potter or the Twilight movies, but I'm glad I saw it. I was out at the corner store/gas station this evening and I ran into a friend I hadn't seen for 40 years. She was behind me in line. We were friends in elementary school and halfways through high school, when I moved and we lost contact. She said "Are you Liana?" and I said "yes" and she said "I'm Ricky,." And then we both screamed:P Isn't that bizarre? 40 years have gone by. I watched the moon rise on the way home and it was beautiful. Tomorrow's a new year; in two weeks it's my birthday; and spring is on its way--not soon but it's on its way. I chuckled about your comment about me if I was drunk. That rarely and close to never happens but I probably would start writing a list on how to save the world, or at least what I would do for the next week:D

Blaise is young and full of hormone fueled energy, :D. I think in the back of my mind I thought, even if Terry turns out to be the love of her life, if he's the only boy Blaise ever kisses, she'll always wonder what kissing someone else would be like, and it would be better if she had a basis of comparison, so to speak, heh. Jo thought the same thing about her characters, briefly pairing Hermione with Viktor, Ron with Lavender, Ginny with several boys, and Harry with Cho so it wouldn't be characters marrying the first person they'd ever kissed.
How nice to run into an old friend! I don't live in my hometown, but even if I did it's too big for me to run into people outside traffic accidents and divine providence.
I bet if you wrote that list they'd be good suggestions...or at least good for a laugh. ;)
The moon's still full and bright. The man in the moon watched our fireworks display with a smile. We'll probably go out after midnight and shoot off some more. I love the shells you drop into tubes and light. They shoot into the sky and burst into flowers and crackling stars.

One of my favorite parts in this chapter was the one with Moaning Myrtle. That was nice of Draco to step out of the tub and give Myrtle a view of his god-like body:P Remember the scene in one of the early movies when Myrtle told Harry that if he died he could share her toilet? Jesse and I really laughed over that scene. I also liked "Slim Slytherin." I had a black cat once, named Shade. We often called him Slim. Poor Pansy. She's never made to sound attractive, although the thought of her traumatizing unsuspecting drunk boys on their way back from the bathroom was pretty funny. So, who is the mysterious photographer? It sounds like Draco and Ginny might come through this OK. Great chapter. The snow's finally stopped here and it doesn't feel that cold outside. I know because little Fynn got caught on the steps and I had to go out in my pajamas and slippers (don't forget the warm, fuzzy robe) and set him free. I wonder how long it will be before I can leave the house. I guess it doesn't matter. Maybe it'll be later today. It looks like someone got stuck on the road that goes past my mother's house. Either that or they parked really stupid:D The snow plows are out but I need my Dad and his snow blower. I may take your advice and find a snow plow guy. I need to be able to go to work without worrying about getting stuck in a snow bank on my way to the car:) See you later.

Parking Stupid sounds like the title of a short story in a Woman's World type magazine. A woman looks out her window, sees a car that looks like it got stuck on the road that goes past her mother's house, sheds her fuzzy robe to dress and go out to help, telling her dog Fynn that it had better not be some fool parking stupid. There's no one in the car, so she goes to her mom's for coffee and to ask about the car and finds the owner--who is there to see our intrepid heroine. He misread the address.
Now why he's there...hmmm...he wants to publish her children's book. He has family in the area, figured he'd "drop by" and got caught in the snow. You have to fill in the appearance. My imagination is casting an Alan Rickman look alike. ^_~
Get the snow plow guy. You never know who might be trying to find your house!
I wrote this a few hours ago but it got eaten again. The original went something like this. That was kind of a sad jolt in an otherwise happy chapter. I suspected that Lucius had something to do with Blaise's nightmares. And, now we know why Draco has bad memories of the beach house. I want to go to Spain and I want to have a house elf. And, if I have to tell a couple of little white lies to get them I will:P Actually, I got something else instead--a nice romantic dream of a warm place:P I'm glad they all had a philosophical discussion about lying. I think it helps them trust because they probably wouldn't trust a bunch of known liars. I also think that sometimes the truth has to be stretched. This was a super chapter, full of romantic description and warm places. It made me feel warm and that's no lie.

I had hope for a brief moment that something else had gone wrong and that was why Ginny was called home. But Ginny did it to herself and blamed poor Ron all the time. I actually feel somewhat relieved that Arthur and Molly now know about Draco. I haven't read what will happen but I think it's better for things to be out in the open. I'm hopeful that Draco and Ginny will be able to be together in public. I hope Luna figures out what's going on with Professor Hook. I still say he's a very suspicious character--all the more so if he looks like Lucius Malfoy with black hair:D Great chapter.

I think it's human nature to blame others, and there will be drama ahead, but I agree about being out in the open. Sneaking around is only exciting in the beginning, when people are caught up in the thrill and the ramifications haven't sunk in.

I'm glad to be back reading this story. I still love the morning ceremonies. I didn't know that Draco and Ginny also knew what happened to Lorelei:) I am happy that Blaise and Terry are back together. This is such a different Harry in this story. In HBP, he was such a worrying, almost depressed person and here he's a regular kid--being a brat:D This is a little closer to reality. You've mentioned Piers Anthony's work a number of times. I've never read any of his stuff although I did buy many of his books for the library. Maybe I should read them. I also wanted to read books by--I think her last name is Wrede--Dealing with Dragons, etc. Great chapter. Fun to read.

The wedding ceremony was beautiful. I felt kind of bad that it had to be so private--I'm sure their friends would've loved to be there but I guess that's the way it had to be. Besides, they can always renew their vows in the future and have a huge blow-out party. Draco sounds so handsome with longer hair, although I bet he looks like Lucius. I laughed at Luna when she burst in on Wesley trying to give a romance novel to another witch. I went "Aww" when Larry basically said Luna should've just asked him if she could go to Spain-he probably would've said yes. It's so good to see the twins on Ginny's side. The Weasleys have been so understanding. This was once again a very full chapter. I loved it. Your vision of me hiding from the art teacher is pretty close:D I just waved at her and then started an intense discussion with one of the principals--giving the impression I couldn't be disturbed:P I'm so bad.

Draco with ANY length hair is dead sexy. Long hair does heighten his resemblance to Lucius, which is probably why he keeps it short in the epilogue.
I loved Luna's dream. I hope her Dad doesn't marry that Ivanna. You hinted that Professor Hook's lover was Sybill. I still think he acted kind of gay:D (I'm just giving you a hard time.) I was surprised that Draco approached Ron and that Ron actually helped him. I could see the portrait trying to guess who Draco was. I still think someone should write a story that's mostly about the portraits:P Fred and George are too much with their looking in the window and waving. You know, I sympathize with Molly but I hope she comes around. Arthur seems more like the voice of reason here--reminding her of things from her past. I already like the Blaise character but I'm gaining a new respect for her Slytheriness. Great chapter.

Poor Hook, he can't wear velvet without having his sexual preferences questioned. :D Have you seen the version of Peter Pan with Isaacs? He's ruthless, yet sympathetic...and a lot sexier than Dustin Hoffman in Hook, LOL.
If Molly didn't go into angry/hysteric mother mode first, it wouldn't have been 'real' to me. A mother can get used to just about anyone her children love, but it won't always be instant acceptance (as I'm sure you know, heh).
Ever seen Gigi with Leslie Caron? I think of a song from that with a HP twist: Thank heaven, for little Slytherin girls. How would they do without her? ;)
