Frozen Silence by Equinox Chick
Summary: A poem (nay, a tritina!) written about the last moments of Sirius Black's death.

Disclaimer: Although I may want to own Sirius Black (and often claim he's my husband), he does in fact belong to JK Rowling.

Frozen Silence by Equinox Chick
Thank you to natalie (hestiajones) for beta'ing my hideous punctuation and to Julia (theopaleye) for setting this fantastic and challenging challenge over on the MNFF beta boards.

The challenge was to write a tritina about something you found mysterious in the Potterverse. My mystery was the Veil.

~~~
An outstretched arm, his head flung back.
Time suspended, a hold on breath.
He arcs towards the fluttering Veil.
Voices wisping through the veil,
Scream silently to hurl him back;
In vain, he takes his final breath.
A shuddering cry, a heaving breath,
A good man swallowed by the Veil
Remembers the life he can’t get back.
Taking back breath, Death guides the Veil.
