‘Twas the morn of the Quidditch match,
When in the Gryffindor dorm was heard a latch.
Perfectly robed with brooms in hand,
The seven players walked past the stands,
To the field, where a match would take place,
And at center-circle, was found a case.
Released were the Quaffle, the bludgers, the snitch,
Drawing the eyes and darting away from the pitch.

Said Madam Hooch, "Are you ready to fly?"
Fourteen red and green streaks bolted into the sky.
Slytherin managed to go out and score first,
But Gryffindor proved that they weren’t the worst.
Two bludgers, three scores and a brilliant save,
And the crimson-gold team was ahead by a shave.
"Thirty to twenty," Lee Jordan said,
But suddenly a bludger flew toward Katie Bell’s head.
Knocked off her broom and taking a hundred foot fall,
She fell to the ground just avoiding a wall.

Slytherin went out and took a fifty point lead,
Forcing a time-out and the Gryffindor captain to plead,
"C’mon guys, it’s not over yet,
Although Ludo Bagman may place a bet.
All we need is a couple of scores,
And this game will be a match again and once more.
Harry, go out and get that snitch,
Win us the match and show every wizard and witch,
That the cup should be ours and ours it should stay,
So team, get ready, it’s time to play!"

The seven, now six, streaks darted out,
But only seconds away was another bout.
"The Snitch has been seen!" Lee Jordan found,
And Draco and Harry flew toward the ground,
Picking up speed and not wanting a loss,
Harry showed Draco that he was the boss.
He hopped with two feet right onto his broom,
And then took a dive giving Malfoy his doom.
"Gryffindor takes the Cup!" and all were astound,
That a Gryffindor victory was finally found.
