TVs, radios, computers,
Telephones, hairdryers, light bulbs.
Cars that don’t fly, chocolate crème pie,
All from the world I know.
With just one letter my life changed forever.
I move to a universe I’ve never known.
Alone at first, scared for the worst,
For once the know-it-all didn’t know it all.
Walked on to a train, no one knew my name.
Excited, confused, and bewildered.
Am I insane?
What am I doing leaving the world I know so well?
After Year One I head aboard
The same train as before.
Now with Friends to hang out with, to scream and to shout with,
In this world where I’ve just been welcomed.
One year later the end of Year Two,
After dangers and troubles haunted the school.
I’m happy to be alive
In the world where I now reside.
365 days passed, and what a task,
Year Three flew by, I helped save two lives.
Now onto Year Four, don’t know what’s in store
For the world filled deep with magic.
After year Four I want nothing more
Of the man who cannot be named.
Someone has died, another come back to life,
All in the world I’m now in.
After Year Five,
A loved one has died, and everyone still thinks he’s guilty.
Why, oh, oh, why?
Is this world that I live in so evil and wicked?
Now it’s the end of Year Six,
Life’s not at all filled with bliss, but with worry and sadness and woe.
I have to move on, have to remain strong.
In the world I now know.
I am no longer the scared first year
Coming to a world different than my home.
For now the different world is my own,
And the old one is as alien to me as this one used to be.
So will I return to another year, seven?
The answer I do not know.
But I will remain now in the world that I know,
Never to truly return to the world I’ve once known.
