Chapter Notes: My first fanfic so if you liked it or if you hated it I would love to hear your opinion
The white tomb gleams in the sunlight

Tears on my face, sobs on my shoulder.

Why did this happen? Is it a test?

Everyone in the world will remember this day.

My first day at Hogwarts, I remember today.

Meeting my best friend, leaving my family

Hearing a speech, made by this greatest wizard ever to live.

Seeing my hero, in the flesh.

Knowing, unconsciously how important he would be to us.

My first Halloween at Hogwarts, I remember today.

A troll, a bathroom, and a levitating club.

Friendships were made with a special girl

A girl that would change my life.

My second year at Hogwarts, I remember today

A girl lying in a hospital wing bed

A realisation of love.

Another bathroom with a chamber beneath

A monster, a basilisk.

Hoping against hope that my sister would live.

My third year at Hogwarts, I remember today.

A rat, and a dog, and a werewolf to boot.

Discoveries of liars, of scapegoats and trees

My pet was a traitor

Divination predicted that he would escape.

My fourth Christmas at Hogwarts, I remember today.

The jealousy and misery that came to me.

How pointless it all now seems.

My fourth summer at Hogwarts, I remember today.

The return of Lord Voldemort,

The death of a boy.

The horror of it all came crashing down on me.

My fifth year at Hogwarts I remember today

The corruption afoot

Our small rebellion

Our battle at the ministry

The scars from the brains.

My last year at Hogwarts, I remember today.

The prophecy, the prince and the romance.

The jealousy (again), and the internal battles.

The battle with the Death Eaters

The end to a life.

The funeral of a great man is happening today.

I hope it makes us all realize what is important.

Honesty, and honour, and fighting for justice

The battle between good and evil

And most importantly, love.

Love needs to blossom in this time of sorrow

Pride needs to be put aside for a while.

People should admit love for one another.

Before the other disappears.

It is so important.

We only have a week of peace left.

Of weddings and of love.

After that we head off,

Into the thick of the battle.

So if we embrace this last week,

Admit love and feel joy

We can fight this war,

And we can win.

For we have the most powerful weapon of all.

Love.
