The magical world has nothing so fair,
As a stunning young girl, with bright, copper hair.

Her lips are like petals, a soft blushing rose,
A perfect companion for her sweet button nose.
Her eyes are like emeralds, one flash and you’re gone,
Trapped in a dream of where she should belong.

Her wand made of willow - her robes, deepest black,
Her heart a possession of which I do lack.
For she does not love me,
No she does not care,
For what could this girl want with my loving stare?

My skills are not special, My arrogance too,
Does nothing but push me still further from you.
But Lily, I love you!
No plainer than that –
I want and adore you, Right there where you’re sat.

You sit doing homework, And chewing your quill,
And all I can think of is my love for you still.
Though you do not know it,
Nor I till just now,
There is more than just hatred behind every row.

You think that I’m childish, Perhaps it is true,
But a child is like nothing if I’m not with you.

You’ve looked up from your work now,
You’re looking at me,
I know that it isn’t with love that you see.

My darling sweet Lily,
For that’s what you are,
For now I will settle to watch from a-far.
