Today I Do Not Want To Be Human
Today as I sit in class and listen,
My mind wanders to the Forbidden Forest,
To the mischievous deeds yearning
To be done.
I look to my handsome dark-haired friend,
Lounging in his seat with care-free elegance-
And he winks for he knows what I am thinking:
I do not want to be human.
I want to run free among the trees,
Sneak around Hogsmeade,
Break the rules.
I am anxiously awaiting the full moon.
At heart I am a stag, silent and proud,
Though maybe not so silent...
He cracks a joke about the Teacher's pet
And I am laughing out loud,
Knowing that no matter if I am human
Or if I am a devious, sly stag,
He will always be at my side,
A face full of laughter and joy.
Maybe today I just want to be a good friend.
