I am a card-carrying member of WCAWLHPTM (Women of a "Certain Age" Who Love Harry Potter Too Much) though I have only recently discovered fanfics and am in the process of writing my first (The Letter). Although a writer by trade, I have only published non-fiction, but am interested in breaking into fiction and am trying to develop my fiction-writing skills. I am the mother of a grown son who is a pilot for Sky West Airlines, and am owned by two dogs, a Westie (Charlie) and a Sheltie (Belle). I'm also an editor and political activitist with a strong interest in history and current events. My hobbies include gardening, dog walking, and reading, especially biography, mysteries, well-written (i.e., not too fluffy) romances, and of course the Harry Potter books.
All is not well.
George uses work and Firewhisky to cope with Fred's death until a drink with a friend leads to something that dulls pain better than alcohol. Emotionally torn by grief, he struggles to allow Alicia into his life...and then comes baby....

This was fascinating. I love the way you've fleshed out Zabini. He's not the evil, bigoted Slytherin from the books, but a person of substance. I love his mother's name too: Dahlia. As in Black Dahlia? All the African references were interesting. Well done!
Author's Response: It\'s Dalila, but you know, I had the same thought, that she would be a fabulous \'Black Dahlia\'! Huzzah for great minds thinking alike (ignoring the second part, obviously meant for others, hee) I hope you\'ll enjoy his character\'s development in Chasing Angelina! (hint, hint, :D)
Well, I really can't wait for the next chapter now! So Bill was sort of, er, premature, eh? Wouldn't surprise me, to tell the truth. As frequently as Molly and Arthur popped out babies, it seems like there were quite a few years there when they couldn't stay off each other. This was a really great chapter, one of your best yet. Update SOON please!
Author's Response: I\'m sure he was amazingly well-developed and healthy for a \"preemie\" too! :D Thank you, although now for some reason your comment about Molly and Arthur has put the insanely catchy, if sexist and irritating Kayne West song stuck in my head...You don\'t know how long I\'ve been on ya, since Prince was on Apollonia, since OJ wore Isotoners LOL
I love the way you write Molly! So many fanfic writers depict her as stuffy, but with a family like that, how could she be for long? I can't wait to see how Ron and Ginny react to the news that they're about to become an uncle and aunt respectively. Hurry and update, please!
Author's Response: Thank you! I think she only comes off badly when we see her through Harry\'s eyes because he doesn\'t know her as a person as well as Ron\'s emotionally reactive, hot-tempered mum! :D
Another great chapter! I guess the mods are finished with their lightning round. They were doing a phenemonal job for awhile there, as I was posting a story of my own and they were getting to the updates almost I hit the submit button. I have another one in the qeue now, though, for what seems like forever. Hopefully they'll get your next chapter up soon. I'm really enjoying your story. Great job!
Author's Response: Thank you! When stories update quickly, you smile, when they don\'t...you don\'t. lol. Let\'s both wish each other\'s chapters luck posting soon!
This was a great chapter. I'm intrigued by Kingsley's interest in Dahlia Zabini and you have me seriously longing for an update. Can't wait to see what Molly has to say to Alicia. Happy Thanksgiving to you too!
Author's Response: Kingsley\'s like a Canadian Mountie...he always gets his man--with two exceptions. Sirius Black, he deliberately obstructed justice for, but Dalila, he never had a chance to get...so to speak...until now, heh) ^_~
This ws very sweet and tender. I don't think George is such a pig now. I'm waiting for him to do the honorable thing, though, and go properly down on one knee. Otherwise his mother is certainly going to kill him!
Author's Response: I see George as strong willed, even contrary at times. (That\'s why he liked Sirius so much, heh) I think you\'ll find when people expect him to do something, he doesn\'t want to, and when they don\'t, he does! :D
Oh, this was a delight! I loved the bit with the twins switching Arthur's newspaper for a sex mag and him being such a good sport about it, bless him! And Molly was just adorable (Mama Jama? lol!) I think this is my favorite chapter so far. Can't wait to see what you do next with this story.
Author's Response: Thank you very much! I can see Arthur chuckling to himself over the boys\' naughtiness and Molly\'s reaction, can\'t you? :D
Wow! George is really being a pig, isn't he? After what he's been through, I guess the idea of incipient fatherhood might be a bit much, but still. . . Can't wait to see what happens next. Update soon!
Author's Response: They\'ve been dating for a couple of months and he\'s finally comfortable with the idea of having a girlfriend...and now he\'s going to be a FATHER? He is definitely not ready, but ready or not....
This was really good! I've been looking for good Remus/Tonks stories lately and haven't found many that I felt were true, both to canon and the characters, but yours fits the bill so far. Well done!
"I wanted a marriage, not a wedding." Absolutely, Tonks. Right on, sister! Remus is such a noble git. Must be where Harry gets it from. Lol! Another good chapter. Can't wait to read more.
Ah, Remus! Men can be so dense, can't they? And Ted too. I know your A/N said this was slightly AU, so I know I don't have to point out that Ted actually left so he wouldn't be rounded up with the other Muggleborns. But it's true, I suppose, that neither Andromeda nor Tonks ever saw him again after he left. *sob* Oh, this story is so sad, even more so because I know how it ends for Remus and Tonks. I think you're keeping these characters very true to canon, however, and I'm really enjoying the story. Onward, then. . .
I think this is my favorite chapter yet. Remus comiing home so broken and Tonks' reaction was just the right mixture of outrage and longing. I love the way she's talking to her unborn baby too, though it breaks my heart to think of how soon she'll leave poor Teddy. *sigh* Update soon, please!
This really explains Harry's attitude about not wanting James to go to Hogwarts. As a parent, I know that you always fear more for your kids than you do for yourself, so I totally understand where he's coming from. I loved the fight between the boys, too. That James is something else. Poor Ginny, trying to cope with that lot. Oh, and I want Lily's dollhouse. It sounds really cool. Harry seems like a lovely dad, the way he explains the whole Voldemort thing to James. And, finally, a Zabini sighting! Can't wait to see what comes of that!
