Emmy Chahal for CBC, Canada. - I was just wondering what the most valuable piece of advise you would give to an aspiring writer?

JK Rowling: Read as much as you can, I think that there is nothing as important, because that will really show you what makes good writing in your opinion, obviously it's very subjective. You will probably go through a phrase when you imitate your favourite writers and I think that is necessary and a good learning process.

After that, you just have to accept it takes a phenomenal amount of perseverence and the people who deserve to make it ... you probably will not like 90 per cent of what you write, one day you write a single page you like and build on that.

Hi, I'm a young writer here.

Those are J.K. Rowling's own words, everyone. For me, it may be a bit dificult to follow them, as excited as I was to find out that my absolute favorite writer of all time gave me adivce.

1) Read as much as you can. Check.

2) Go through a phase imitating your favorite writers. If fanfiction counts, then, infinite checks.

3) Perservere...... well, I don't think I'd live if I tried not to write. =)

4) You won't like 90% of your writing, so write a page you like and go from there. Haha, so true. That's why reviews matter! ;) They give you self confidence.

I really love the Harry Potter seiries, but I love Mugglenet's Fanfiction even more.

I have way too many favorite characters, but I especially love Lily Evans and Lily Potter. (And Neville, who goes without saying).

The only ships I don't support is Hermione/Draco, or Ginny/Draco. I personally think Draco would be better off living alone and childless. I know that sounds.... a bit.... mean, but Draco, I think, is generally a bad person, despite his reasons for acting bad.

About Snape: I recently went to Potted Potter a parody by Dan and Jeff, and they asked the crowd if Snape was good or bad. I embarrased myself by shouting 'Bad'.

However, I wholeheartedly agree that Snape was a very mean person. He was terrible to Harry, and pretty much everyone else, no matter how torn up inside he was. Snape's personally one of my favorite characters (if you didn't guess from 'Almost') and I have nothing against him. I just don't think he's 'good'.

I hope you like my stories.

Wow. Haven't been on here in a long time. ;) If anyone's interested in what I've been up to these days, I suggest you look up the author

Astrid Goes For A Spin

on Fanfiction.net. Don't worry, I haven't done any Harry Potter on there, unless you count my true work of art, my crossover. Now, no more spoilers!

Read on, and please, review!

Also, about reveiws - some of them I've forgotten to thank the reveiwer, but I really love getting reveiws, so to anyone I've forgotten, thanks for reveiwing!

Christmas with the Marauders by iouaname

Rated:
Summary: Lily is staying at Hogwarts over Christmas break for the first time, and since her friend won’t be with her, Lily thought that she’ll experience a miserable Christmas. Guess who’s going to cheer her up? The Marauders, of course! Will they succeed? Or make things even worse? Knowing the Marauders, it’s probably the latter...

Aww. Cute, and sweet. I loved it! I wish there was more, though. =)

Soap Pie by Lirael Astarael

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: *ONE-SHOT* After carefully observing (ahem) a row between Ron and Hermione, Fred and George concoct an evil plan...and a pie. A sniff of Harry/Ginny and, of course, the odor of pie.

So, so, so, so, so good and funny. It actually made me laugh out loud! Is going on my favorite story list. I loved it so much! That was an ingenious Fred and George idea and you captured their characters beautifully! I will probably cry if you never write a story like this again, and write an essay instead.

Lessons by Hallie Black

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Professor Sprout has just given 7th year Gryffindors a new project, where the class, divided in pairs, has to raise a rare plant. What’s gonna happen when Lily finds out who her partner is? And how will she survive in his sole company?

Killing him would not be appropriate Head Girl behaviour.

A Few Detentions and A Story by LaneTechFreshie

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: James Potter: Marauder. Lily Evans: Prefect. They're both seventh years at Hogwarts. They're also about to have a pretty interesting year--complete with a few detentions, pranks, confusion, and laughter--in which they get through school, make some trouble and maybe, just maybe, sort out their feelings for each other.

Thanks to all you who have made it possible for this story to be in the Top Tens. It was a very happy moment when I first saw my story on the list, and I love being able to go back and see it there now. Still. Yay!

Throughout the latter half of 2010, and the first half of 2011, I re-edited this story. The changes were mostly to fix stray (and annoying) grammar and spelling errors, but also to rework some plot points in an effort to stay truer to canon. I also updated the style; having written this story so long ago, my writing has definitely developed (and I would say gotten better), so I edited to reflect that. (I apologize for the errors that were in the story before all this editing. I found them immensely distressing when I reread my chapters. Heartbreaking, really.)

Big “thank yous” go to the three people who helped edit/nitpick the first edition of this novel: violagirl, fairiesandcream, and Omagus.
And yes, this story is up on Fanficition.net under the penname: Io.Sono.Emilia.
Of course, as a disclaimer, I’m not JK Rowling. The Potterverse does not belong to me, but I am in it and love it.

I liked the part when the kids were discussing James and Lily. It was sweet and I liked it very much. =)

As always, well written and enjoyable. I particualarly liked the last chapter, but there was one thing I didn't think was canon - Snape continuously insulting Lily. He made a mistake once, and hated himself after that. He loved her for the rest of his life - the last thing he did was he wanted to see Lily's eyes look at him. I don't think he would have done that, and I don't think she would have punched him. Good writing anyways, though. =)

I thought this fic was hilarious, though not completely canon-compliant, seeing as Fred is alive. Good story though, I wish I'd thought of it!

The Dark Lord's Blog by Schmerg_The_Impaler

Rated: 1st-2nd Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: What does Lord Voldemort do in his spare time? Well, that's an excellent question. Who would have known that the Dark Lord has a blog? (He also has a loyal following of readers, most of whom are Death Eaters and who post their comments.) Voldemort dispenses advice on everything from murder methods to germ protection to Power Rangers to shoes, and gives an account of the life of an evil overlord. But is he posting too much personal information online? And will Harry read it and find out more about the Dark Lord than Voldemort ever intended? Read and see.

WARNING: Extremely OOC behaviour from almost all.

RUNNER-UP in the 2007 Quicksilver Quills Awards for Best Humour fic! Also nominated like 21 times, because apparently my readers are as insane as I am!

Lord Voldemort... and Bob? by Schmerg_The_Impaler

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: For Lord Voldemort, life is going swell, and everything is juuust peachy... until a ghostly visitor arrives. EXTRAORDINARILY silly.

EDIT: For some bizarre reason that I can't fully comprehend, this story WON the "Things that Go Bump In The Night" challenge in the Winter's Tale Challenge.

Date: 07/26/11 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter One and Only!

At first, I thought this was some odd crossover with Percy Jackson's Rachel Elizabeth Dare / or The Princess Diary's Lilly Moscovitz. Then I realized it was an original character. That is rather like the both of them combined..... rather odd, really. I enjoyed it very much. =) I'm guessing, though, that Bob's hair was red? I can't imagine it any other color. Should be irritating to Voldemort, though. =)

All Night Long by Grace has Victory

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: How does a friendship begin? Ginny Weasley, about to begin her second year at Hogwarts, is very distrustful of Hermione Granger. Having to share a room with her at The Leaky Cauldron will require the courage of Godric Gryffindor himself.
Reviewer: Snowlily Signed

I really liked this, I've never read a story that talks about how Ginny felt about the Chamber. It was really interesting and inspiring....=)

Author's Response: Thank you! I am so flattered that anyone still reads this old story, and I'm glad to have held your interest.

The Resistance by enchantedsleeper

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: [Spoilers for Deathly Hallows] We all know what Ron, Harry and Hermione were doing at the time. Now, this is the story of the second Dumbledore's Army, and their resistance against Snape and the Carrows. Canon pairings.
Reviewer: Snowlily Signed
Date: 07/25/11 Title: Chapter 5: Dumbledore's Army, Still Recruiting

Without a doubt, the second-best story I've ever read. Fanfiction and real books. So well written, canon, very good, humourous, realistic, dramatic, just like I imagined Ginny's time at Hogwarts during the war to be. Keep writing. =)

Author's Response: That is without a doubt the best compliment I've ever received XD I'm so glad you like my story. I'm trying to do the best possible job I can as a homage to Rowling's wonderful work and her characters X3 But also because it's fun! Uploading chapter six now.

Home Improvement by Schmerg_The_Impaler

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: When Ron Weasley is promoted to a rather high rank in the Auror business, his mother congratulates him by informing him that it's high time he found a place of his own.

Ron may be quite good at his job as an Auror, but he now faces the most difficult challenge of all...

Ridiculously short one-shot that I wrote for some challenge about a year ago and never submitted. It's also my first one-shot that's not about Voldemort and the Death Eaters! Gasp!

Dursleys, Meet The Wizarding World by Ghoul In Pajamas

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •

Hestia and Mr. Dursley are constantly fighting, Petunia is avoiding the wizards at all costs, and Dedalus is trying to make them all the best of friends. Dudley is a bit....more humane than I like to think of him.... you do it in an intristing way, fun to read...=) Although, I was really hoping for some 'mishandled' magic and perhaps another issue for Dudders.... well, the story's barely started. I really love it. =)

I can see Dudley's interest in Quidditch, although he would need more of an Abraxan horse than a Firebolt. I can see him doing the 'Crabbe/Goyle' sort of Beating.....=)

Before the Sunrise by Roxy Black

Rated: 1st-2nd Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: On the night before her wedding to James, Lily wakes up with icy feet. So when a ghost from her past shows up out of the blue, what can she do but wait for the sun to rise?

I like it a lot, I really think you did a good job.

I didn't like, though, that Lily loved Snape, because I don't know who could.

Good job anyway.

Invisible by ginnyrulz13

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Harry calls after her. "Cho!" But she doesn't stop. Good, that'll teach him to go on dates with Cho Chang. He throws a galleon on the table and runs after her. I sneeze. Everyone in the tearoom turns their eyes from the still tinkling door to me hiding under the table.
Ginny ditches Quidditch practice to spy on Harry's first (and only) date with Cho. Written from Ginny's POV
Song fic to "Invisible" by Taylor Swift First part in my "Little Ginny Weasley" series, but it can stand alone.
Reviewer: Snowlily Signed
Date: 04/11/11 Title: Chapter 1: Little Ginny Weasley

One of my favorite stories! I love it, especially Ginny's hatred of Cho. I do feel it would be very nice (I'm just giving an idea, in case you ever want to write an epilouge) for Ginny to take revenge upon Cho later in life. Just an idea....=)

Author's Response: Thank you so much for the idea! I genuinely appreciate it; i think it was kittykat who suggested i write a sequel to this story and that's how incredible was born haha. I love the idea of Ginny taking revenge on Cho, the only problem is I need to think of a reaaaaly creative way to do it, since she is Ginny Weasley, after all. But you got the old gears in my head turning (gosh i havent written a hp fanfic in, i think, two years?) so this could be fun :)
