Summary: The reign of Voldermort comes to an end, and with it ends the prestige and power Lucius Malfoy once had in the Wizarding World. In order to regain the respect of his fellow wizards and to make them believe that he has turned over a new leaf (which he actually hasn't) and has graciously accepted muggles and Mudbloods, Lucius asks Hermione, a Mudblood, to marry his son, Draco, a pure-blood. Obviously, they both refuse, but Lucius isn't going to give up easily. After all, he wants his status back. He still has a few tricks up his sleeve and is determined to play match-maker. What happens next is a series of events that serve only to bring Hermione and Draco closer, both literally and figuratively speaking. This is a cute little story portraying Harry and Ginny's feelings extremely well after the war.
As much as I love Ron, I'm actually glad to see that someone hasn't let all of the main characters live; seeing story after story about Ron, Hermione, Ginny, and Harry living is a little... I don't know... irritating. I must say, even in one of my stories, I couldn't resist letting them all live.
Anyway, awesome job! This was a touching romantic piece that I really couldn't help but enjoy!

Thanks to all you who have made it possible for this story to be in the Top Tens. It was a very happy moment when I first saw my story on the list, and I love being able to go back and see it there now. Still. Yay!
Throughout the latter half of 2010, and the first half of 2011, I re-edited this story. The changes were mostly to fix stray (and annoying) grammar and spelling errors, but also to rework some plot points in an effort to stay truer to canon. I also updated the style; having written this story so long ago, my writing has definitely developed (and I would say gotten better), so I edited to reflect that. (I apologize for the errors that were in the story before all this editing. I found them immensely distressing when I reread my chapters. Heartbreaking, really.)
Big “thank yous” go to the three people who helped edit/nitpick the first edition of this novel: violagirl, fairiesandcream, and Omagus.

“Anytime she brings up that sort of thing, I try to act like I have loads of experience too, but actually I have no idea what I’m talking about.”
“But what about you and Krum?” Harry asked, still visibly uncomfortable about their conversation.
“Oooh big deal. So we kissed a couple times. That means I must be a demon in the sack,” Hermione answered sarcastically. “Look, I was thinking…” Hermione started to blush. “I need to find someone I know to you know… practice with.”

Gah! I hate having to wait for updates. This is really hilarious. At first, I was like, "Gah. Harry Potter as a Soap Opera. Sounds weird," but then I started reading and couldn't stop. Very well, plotted, I am still totally cracked up and almost fallen off my chair. Bloody brilliant!!! Adding this to my favorites.

I must say that I absolutely loved this story! The made up history was extremely funny and very official with the dates and locations that you'd described. The journalisticness (is that a word?) of the whole thing also was really well done. "One girl, Hermione Granger" "many ambitions", etc., which use big words and down-to the point expressions-- very well-done! You've captured the Rita Skeeter touch, and the flow of the whole thing went smoothly222!
Looking back, am surprised that this article/story/fic was not under either history or humor -- as it's very silly, but tells a lot, also, about the history of slaves; all though it may not be canon.
I would have loved to have seen this signed by someone, maybe making up a reporter's name -- but oh well. Not a biggie.
I didn't catch many grammatical errors, but one thing that did have me going "hmmmm" was that Hermione is sixteen. Not only was this during the entire dilly-dally run-in with the ministry, but also, I'm not sure if the paper would give such an article to an underage witch at such a time when they thought she was such a liar about the whole Ministry-hearing thing.
But that's just if you were going by canon, and I'm not sure if you were. And hey, if everyone went by canon, how many great stories like this would there be?

Trying to imagine what it would be like for people who are used to moving pictures to see moving images on a Muggle machine was quite fun. Poor Hermione, though, had to hold in her laughter because she knew how honest the reactions were and she didn\'t want to hurt anyone\'s feelings by laughing at them. Thanks for the review! :)
