I fell in love with Jo Rowlings world years ago, when I was 11. The first book I read was Chamber of Secrets, mostly because I didn't know Sorcerer's Stone existed. I love everything about the books, although...I've always hated Pettigrew. If his character wasn't such an important part of the storyline I think Jo would have been better off without him.

I do love the fanfics though, and much as I will deny it, I'm completely enamored with any sort of romance fics, especially Dramione and James/Lily. I appreciate Jo pairing up Ron and Hermione, but in my head Draco fits her better. I'm strange like that.

I never thought, when I first joined the site, that I'd ever write any sort of fic. I've always loved to write, but finishing a story isn't one of my strong points.

Meant to Be by annie

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: It is their final year at Hogwarts, and Hermione and Draco start it off burdened by confusion and mixed feelings after catching a glimpse of the near future. This is a fic about the two students as they deal with their fate and the knowledge of what is to come with the aid of a magical window into the future. (Rated PG-13 for mild violence in later chapters)

Chapter 19 has been posted. This fic is finished. Thank you to everyone who read and reviewed!

Unspoken by Callista Melaney

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Voldemort returns to finish what he's started in the trio's final year at Hogwarts. Along with the hysteria that accompanies this event, Hermione struggles with Harry's odd behavior, the threat of war, and her growing feelings towards someone unexpected.

Oh! Poor Ron...I've always liked the idea of he and Hermione as a couple, but...

I also like the way you've paired Hermione with Lupin. I haven't seen many fics like this that I've liked--a lot of authors seem to rush things so fast that it doesn't make sense as to why they're attracted to each other. You've made it real though. It seems as if Hermione and Remus are both holding something back, like they're afraid of what'll actually happen should they have feelings for each other. Maybe it's just me, but that's the feeling I get at times.

But yes, this is brilliant. I can't wait to finish it. :)

Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing. Your feeling is right on the nose, because that was the ambience I was trying to capture by limiting Hermione\'s and Remus\'s affections. Thanks again for the kind words, it means a lot.

His Juliet by CathCarl

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary:

An unlikely Slytherin mulls over his unwanted affection for an unlikely Gryffindor.

Preview:

He sighed, tired of this never-ending battle within himself. Everything he had ever been taught said to ignore her, to lock all good thoughts about her in a Gringotts vault and throw away the key. But she did things to him… made him forget who he was and how he had been raised… made him forget his House and his allegiance to the wizard she had dedicated her life to fight against.

Oh gosh...I wasn't expecting Snape...I was torn between Blaise and Malfoy, but that was definitely a nice twist. Not something you see all the time, but that makes it that much better.

Wonderful.

A Thousand Words by annie

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: For the rest of the Ministry, the interdepartmental challenge was merely a failed attempt to restore trust between workers. But for Draco Malfoy and Hermione Granger, it was the catalyst for an unexpected relationship built on passionate letters, concealed identities, and secret meetings – and the beginning of an end that neither of them could ever have imagined possible, not even in their wildest dreams.

Post-war. Based somewhat on the story of the Phantom of the Opera. Also contains R/Hr, so don't read if you can't stomach that ship.

Status: Complete. Thanks for reading, everyone!

No...Definitely not the happiest of endings, but in a way...I guess I almost expected it. I think Hermione needed the wake-up call to realize just how much she needed Ron, loved Ron. And if seeing Draco flicker back to his usual angry self was what it took, well, more power to you for writing it that way.

I still love this story, no matter how it ends. You have a wonderful way with words and I applaud you.

Excerpt from story:

"He smiled slightly, his other hand softly wiping her tears away. She hiccoughed and his smile grew wider. He bent forward, moving her closer to him, feeling her shake lightly. His eyes were on her rosy lips but he tore them away, he couldn’t do that to her."

I do believe that Harry and Ginny are one of the sweetest couples, and if Ms. Rowling doesn't fix it so that they end up together again at some point, I'm going to be extremely upset. This is wonderful writing though, and I love the song you use. It's so fitting...so perfect...'Tis wonderful.

Forever and Always by darkwing731

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary:
Attention: this story is post-HBP, but AU post HBP and with spoilers. It's a sort of alternate universe, but in the end will be (mostly) compatible with HBP, excluding the fact that Draco and Hermione never got together in the books, and certain deaths.

The day Draco Malfoy returns to Hogwarts, the student body succumbs to the vicious rumors like starving wolves to a piece of meat. Murders, speculation, and confirmed lies only invigorate the malicious boy who had undergone a disturbing transformation. However, no one premeditated Malfoy's fierce desire to be left alone, nor the rancorous, omnipotent attacks that accompanied it. But what rattled them all was the fact that Hermione Granger, more logical and cunning than the rest, would have the audacity to stand up to him.

Hermione Granger did not expect herself to become a detective; a turbulent relationship with Ron, and the figure of Voldemort hovering over the castle, they are the least of her troubles as Malfoy's fatal depression puts everything on the line. Through the visions of a shattered family and the desperate attempts to keep it together, the epiphany that only she can help Malfoy unlocks a traumatizing, unexpected event that no one could've predicted. Discovering she isn’t the only genius on the planet, the ever-looming horcruxes throw her into a mess that she must fix before her life, and everyone else's... is destroyed.

CHAPTER 9 FINALLY IN QUEUE!!! This story is NOT abandoned!

Note: This starts off with a Ron/Hermione ship that lasts a long time; if you can't stomach that ship, don't read it!

Well--first chapter, and you've already gotten me hooked. That's a rarity for me: I do realize that a lot of times the first chapters are just so authors can set things up properly, so we readers aren't confused, but honestly...quite often they're just boring and make me want to read the entire story even less....Not this one though.

I absolutely adore Ron and Hermione as a 'thing', but I also love the idea of Draco and Hermione--they're such opposites it's almost too easy to see them as a couple. Hermione's innocence balances out Draco's darkness, or something to that effect...

But yes, anyway, this is lovely.

:^D

Author's Response: Hah, its weird that you say that because in the first chapter I\'ve set up all the regular Dramione cliches! Head Boy and Girl, share a dorm, he\'s mean yet hot, and she\'s all curious.. lol; gotta start somewhere! See, I\'ve always pictured Ron and Hermione together. They cant NOT be together; they just are. Hermione and Draco, though, you\';re totally right. They balance out and thats why I love them. Kinda rambled, but whatevs! Im glad you liked tje story! So...Malfoy DOES have feelings...That's extremely reassuring; it proves he's still human.

I'm still half-rooting for Hermione to just up and smack him. I don't think I'd blame her if she did.

:^D

Author's Response: Lol he\'s such a stoic buttface in this story, excluding a handful of chapters. She\'ll beat him up, dont worry, lol! Darkwing731

Oh. My. Goodness.

I don't even know what to say. I'm extremely glad your first chapter got my attention, otherwise I probably never would have read any of the other chapters.

Your writing is absolutely excellent. Brilliant, actually, and I'm not just saying that to be nice. It truly is wonderful. Your imagery, your descriptions of feelings, of thoughts...they're so real. It's no wonder Hermione says that she's going crazy--Malfoy's rage would be enough to drive anyone to the brink.

I'm really looking forward to seeing more of this story...

Author's Response: *waves hand modestly* Thanks so much! I really enjoy this story a lot and I try to write the best with this one; obviously you guys liked it! Im really happy that you enjoy this, and thanks; imagery was always sort of easy for me and Im glad that helped the story. Thanks so much for your awesome reviews! Darkwing731

Oh gosh...

I love that little bit of Luna right there at the end. "Ravenclaw?” Luna commented absently. “Oh, how lovely.” How fitting. :^D

This has been a wonderful fic. Not many people can pull off a Hermione/Draco ship without it sinking miserably, but you managed. I loved it...

Oh. My. Wow.

I just discovered this fic about and hour and a half ago, and I haven't been able to stop reading since.

This is excellent. Superb. Wonderful. Pick an adjective. I love the way you're portraying Harry--his emotions, his thoughts, it's all so real. I also love how original your plotline is--I see so many fics that are just different versions of the exact same thing that it's quite refreshing to find something that doesn't fit the mold.

I'm looking forward to reading more. :)

Author's Response: \"Pick an adjective...\" Can I have all of them? :P Thank you very much for the review, I\'m happy you like the story and the writing style. You\'ll get more to read as soon as the second part of the chapter is vaildated!

Although this is not a song-fic by any means, I did listen to it several times while writing the fic.
