This is dedicated to Nan (Ennalee), for the SPEW Trick-or-Treat Story Swap. She asked for ....something with the typical "bad guy" and "good guy," in some sort of conflict. ... But I want there to be some overlapping of the roles - as the story progresses, I want to see the stereotypes of the "bad guy" and the "good guy" overlap; that both are real people with real motivations.

Also, a hundred thousand thanks to Amanda (pandafan81) for doing a fantastic last-minute beta job for me! Note: This story could also have been General, but it fit better in this category than in any other.
