This poem was written for the 2013 Poetry OWL Class. Here are Sirius's thoughts on the Black tapestry.

A tapestry unfolds our
‘proud’ heritage -
a heraldry of death
in blazoned glory
and needle-pricked blood.
But hatred frays through
each silken thread,
leaving my mood blacker
than that bestowed name.

With fingertips as faint
as fairy wings, I trace
each fragmented filament,
yearning to press charred
holes back into
existence.

She is gone. And yet
the scream of her remains,
regaling all (who cannot
help but listen)
to the temper,
the recalcitrance,
and the desperate tears,
that ripped me from her.
Chapter Endnotes: I set these two poems together because they need to be read side by side. :) Hope you enjoyed them.
