So Good by Valentinia

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Potter and Malfoy have always been enemies. This time it starts out as just another fight. Just another attack. But something is different this time, and Malfoy doesn't know what, but somehow, even though it's wrong, it feels so good.

A pretty dark take on this pairing, sort of a "What if?" moment from anywhere after HBP.

Hmm... I really liked this. It was surprising, but it still worked. You would think Harry would be killing him instantly if he's taunting him about Ginny's death, and yet when they kiss it's very satisfying. Nice job! I love this ship.

Author's Response: Thanks! I must admit, I never really shipped Draco/Harry before - or after - writing this twoshot, but it\'s nice to know the real shippers enjoy it! :D

A Quest For Ice Cream by Schmerg_The_Impaler

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Ever wondered why Florean Fortescue was taken by the Death Eaters?

Lord Voldemort is on the quest to find the best, evilest flavour of ice cream, and he will stop at nothing to get it.

This is a very short, very silly and quite OOC little one-shot written as consolation for the fact that "E-Journal" is on hiatus. It's based on a prompt given to me by the ridiculously talented Inigoenigma.

Nominated for Best Humour fic in the Quicksilver Quills awards!

Nice! Lol! I clicked on it as something to tide me over in the wait for a continuation of E-Journal of an Evil Janitor, but it was excellent in its own right! "Squee!" My favorite exclammatory word ever. :)

Author's Response: Thank you very much! I love to say \'Squee!\" Now, E-Journal probably won\'t be updated for... some time, but I\'m personally kind of fond of this story, so I\'m glad you liked it. And thanks for leaving SOOO many reviews for my stuff!

Stop Me From Trying by the fetal positon

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Sirius was always right, no matter what. This time shouldn't have been any different; but a memory, just one memory, was enough to stop him from reaching the land across from the treacherous island of Azkaban.
Reviewer: Rhi for HP Signed
Date: 04/07/08 Title: Chapter 1: Stop Me From Trying

Wow...this was amazing. It was so heartbreaking. I loved the Sirius/James, too, as that's my fav ship but I never ever seen it before! Great job.

Author's Response: Thanks so much! I\'m glad you liked it :)

Yellow by Vindictus Viridian

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: In the sixth book, "... Harry skimmed through his copy of Advanced Potion-Making and found a heavily corrected Half-Blood Prince's version of "An Elixer to Induce Euphoria..." (p. 474). In those corrections lies another story.

Ah, I loved this! As always, you are a magnificent writer. And yes, as the footnote says, it did feel oddly familiar ("have I read this before, and I've somehow forgotten??")--because the plot roughly followed In the Eyes of Others, chapter 46 (which, it must be said, is my favourite fanfic of all time, and always will be). This was excellent. One thing, though: you say "the tea leaves had been accurate down to that detail" (or something to that affect). I've read ItEoO, so I know what Severus is referring to, but if someone hadn't, it might be a bit confusing. Just a note. Otherwise, I loved it.

Never Ordinary by harrypotterfangirl21

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Tom Marvolo Riddle hated the ordinary. He never thought of himself as “normal”, and didn’t want to be remembered as such. Normality was for other people, Tom had decided, he was destined for greatness. And he would go to any lengths to achieve those means…

A partial account of Tom’s life at the orphanage he so hated, showcasing the most important events of his childhood.

*speechless* That was awesome! Creepy in all the right ways, and...well, creepy. *shivers* Good, though. Very believeable.

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I\'m glad you thought it was good . . . and creepy. ^_^

Spinning by Stubbornly_appeared

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: George's world has stopped. But he must beat back the darkness, or it will overcome him.

Reviewer: Rhi for HP Signed
Date: 01/04/08 Title: Chapter 1: Spinning

Um... I'm guessing the quote... Crime and Punishment? Probably not. Anyway, to the review.... *sobs, smiling through tears at the excellence of the story.* FRED, I WILL NEVER FORGET YOU!!!!!

Author's Response: Haha, no, it\'s from \'Lord of the Flies\'. Why, thank you! RIP, FRED. YE SHALL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN! -Stubby

OMG!! I should totally have gotten that!!! WE JUST READ THAT BOOK IN CLASS!!!! I wondered why it sounded ever so familiar!!!!! *kicks herself painfully*

Author's Response: *snort* Yes, I suppose so. Don\'t go masochistic on my account.

Stupid Parties by Hansolohpfrk

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Stupid parties. At least, that’s what Lily Evans thought. After being kicked out of her own dorm, and having to find a suitable place to sleep, she’s fed up. Now, to make her night worse, if she wants a place to stay the night, she has to share a bed with James Potter. Oh joy.

One-shot

Loved it! So cute.

If You Care by Furry Little Problem

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: This is an unrequited Draco/Harry fic, with the lyrics from the song "Shiver", by Coldplay. Beautiful song, I recommend you listen to it :)
Reviewer: Rhi for HP Signed
Date: 02/07/08 Title: Chapter 1: If You Care

This is excellent! I love Draco/Harry ships (aww--unrequited is sad!!! in my happy world everyone hooks up!), and you did this nicely. It sucks when people do slash badly, so congratulations to a well-done slash! This is a credit to the genre. Nice!

Author's Response: Thankyou! -hugs- Glad you enjoyed it :)

P.S. Love that you used this song. Coldplay is one of my fav bands ever. :)

Author's Response: same, they have fab lyrics :P

my own fault by Stubbornly_appeared

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: a trRain waits for me
at king's cross
i will not take...

Albus Dumbledore waits for a train and wonders.

Date: 01/04/08 Title: Chapter 1: my own fault

I loved it!!!!! Wow, that was so amazing. *speechless...* When I read the first line I was thinking, "geez, proofread for random capitalizations!" and then I saw a pattern....REMORSE. Nice touch.

Author's Response: *grin* Thanks! *snicker* Yeah, that\'s what most people think. But- hey, it\'s fun to do on occaision.

Goodbye by harrypotterfangirl21

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: What would Ginny have felt had Harry died?
Reviewer: Rhi for HP Signed
Date: 12/19/07 Title: Chapter 1: Goodbye

Crap, this made me cry!!! :`(

Author's Response: Oh dear, I\'m sorry it made you cry! Was it at least good?

Reviewer: Rhi for HP Signed
Date: 12/22/07 Title: Chapter 1: Goodbye

Yes, I really loved this (sorry if this second review shows up more than once, I keep submitting it but the screen just goes all funny). This is my favorite poem of yours.

Author's Response: It only showed up once, don\'t worry. : )

I\'m glad you liked this, then! And I\'m really happy that this is your favourite poem, as it was the first poem I put on MNFF.

Show Me Love by BloodRayne

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Sara Parker doesn't fully comprehend her feelings towards Hermione Granger yet...but she understand enough to know that a confession is in order.

A/N: By sexual content, I don't mean anything serious, other than a kiss and a risque stray thought, maybe. But I thought it's better to rate higher and be safe.
Reviewer: Rhi for HP Signed
Date: 02/17/08 Title: Chapter 1: Show Me Love

Oh!!! This is so sad. I feel so bad for Sara. That is really hard when you open up to someone about your true feelings and all you get is rejection. I think it's happened to all of us at some point. :(

Author's Response: I\'m glad it could be connected to RL. Thanks!

La Luna Bella by liquid_silver

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Ginny and Luna have a nighttime encounter on the Astronomy Tower. One-shot.

How infuriating...it cut off the rest of my review! Okay, whatever. So anyway...

I'm not sure how to describe this. It's too well written and beautiful to be "cute", and yet it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. It's really quite sweet, and the imagery is gorgeously done. I love how you don't refer to Ginny and Luna really by name, but relate them to fire and moon instead. This was great!

Author's Response: Wow, thanks!! I\'m so glad you liked it.

The Horridly Cheerful Valentine's Day by Gin_Drinka

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Lily Evans never had any intention to spend a day at Hogsmeade with James Potter...of course, things don't always turn out as planned.

A short, sweet story about James and Lily's first unofficial date.

Date: 01/25/08 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Hey, I liked it! Cute. Very cute. I am all about the romance, and Lily/James= such the best. Thinking about it, I realized my parents were actually like James and Lily in college: Dad= handsome soccer player (red head, incidentally) with all the girls falling over him, Mom= only girl who didn't like him and thought his ego was way too big. And then what happened...? They got married. :)

Desires by Stubbornly_appeared

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: "Men have wasted away before it, entranced by what they have seen, or been driven mad, not knowing if what it shows is real or even possible." -Albus Dumbledore

Everyone has a desire. Few realise what it is. Fewer are ever faced with it.

When the Mirror is created, the young apprentice Faxon must make a difficult choice.

He chooses wrong.

Date: 01/04/08 Title: Chapter 1: The Completion of the Mirror

Wow...short and shocking. Love the last line! Is that really what the mirror's inscription says? I've always wondered.

Author's Response: Thanks. It was short, wasn\'t it? It was originally the prolouge for something I never finished writing. Yeah, that is what it says.

He Loves Him by Celestial Melody

Rated: 1st-2nd Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: When you love someone, the last thing you expect them to do is break your heart ... but it frequently happens. Salt-tears cannot express the pain that a heart crying blood feels. Yet, even though our torn and tattered hearts are in pieces, rattling sonorously around in the emptiness of our chests, we still love that 'someone' because no one and nothing can predict love ... It just happens.

For Rose Weasley, her impressions of her own “love” were shattered when she found out something she shouldn't have, something that made her wish for revenge ... something that made her unable to take it.

Date: 02/07/08 Title: Chapter 1: He Loves Him

OMG!!! This is awesome!!!!! I loved the very unconventional writing style, especially in contrast to the last line, when the names are finally used. So sad! Very well done-- this is going on the favorites list!

Author's Response: Thank you so much. =) I\'m so thrilled you enjoyed the story ... and that you liked the style. You\'ve brightened my evening, which was pretty shoddy. *hugs* Thank you again. =)

Long-Distance Extendable Ears by Schmerg_The_Impaler

Rated: 3rd-5th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: Fred is dead.

But that's just the beginning! Because one of George's ears is up in heaven, and the other is down on earth...

Oh, the possibilities!

Date: 02/26/08 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter One and Only

OMG!!! This was so good!!!!! It was hilarious and sad and sweet.... Certainly the longest one-shot I have ever read but well worth it! Loved the references to POTC, Monty Python, Simpsons (from the episode where Bart is Mozart), etc. Last line was prefect, too. *sighs contentedly* That was all-around excellent.

Author's Response: Zank you, zank you! It WAS long... It was written in five chapters, but I had to submit it the day before the challenge, so I had to combine all the challenges. I don\'t remember making a Simpsons reference, though... I\'ve never actually seen that show. Care to enlighten me?
