It may be all over now as far as new material goes, but I fully plan to keep on with the handful of plot bunnies I've gathered and have been caring for over the years. I've always said I never give up on a story once I start writing it (with the exception of Fire and Ice, my apologies).

After some totally incidental field research (travels to the Harry Potter Studio, Romania, and Bulgaria) I promise to pick up Storm and Stress again this summer. Sorry for the hiatus!

To Sever the Lining from a Cloud by Textualsphinx

Rated: 1st-2nd Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: This tale of the teacher whom everyone loathes,
Accounts for his anger and elegant clothes.
It dripped through my mind when, too scantily cloaked,
I got caught in a rainstorm and throughly soaked.

WARNING: Despite the glints of humour, you will need a handkerchief.

This is a beautiful piece, that reads like poetry. Every line is beautiful, and there are no moments that stand out because you have put so much attention into each so that they are all perfect. I'm somewhat at a loss for words. Great work.

That was really great! I loved how at the end it seemed that, what with the two patronuses and Lupin, the marauders were almost united again.

A Day with Life by ByMerlinsBeard

Summary: Bode, an Unspeakable, has recently been promoted to the Life Subdepartment of the Department of Mysteries. Unfortunately for Bode, Life is a pain and his subordinate is having problems.

This was so...abstract. I loved it!
Especially the parts about the Departments of Existence. For some reason I found that horribly funny, but not in the laugh-out-loud way. I really enjoyed reading this.
It was odd reading Life as a name, but this story goes so deep, it's really quite incredible! You take an enormous theme here and fit it into departments of the ministry, and I think that shows a little bit about humanity there. The way we have a tendency to always categorize things and make things nice and organized so we can understand them. I loved the contrast between the abstract idea of Life as a thing and what Life could possible BE, against the ordered rulered world of the Ministry. Fantastic. Wow. This was a breath of fresh (and perplexing) air in my readings on MNFF, that goes above even fanfiction. Great piece.

Author's Response: I\'m glad you enjoyed it! Your review made me think of things I didn\'t think about while writing the story, which is a spin-off of a novel-length I\'ll likely never write about the witch that Bodes speaks with. I think you\'re absolutely right that we try to categorize everything we can, whenever we can, and some things, such as Life, aren\'t so easily categorized.

April Rain by Kimberley

Rated: Professors •
Summary: ***COMPLETED!***Five years ago, half way through her third year at Hogwarts, Regan Jayden was expelled for reasons only she and a very select few know. But now that she's been allowed to return-- under certain terms-- in what would have been her graduating year, will she be able to regain the trust of her fellow Hogwarts students, and of herself?

Excerpt from story: Merlin, he was going soft, Draco thought as he tried not to grimace. He'd start spouting off poetry in a minute if he wasn't careful. This whole love thing was sending him round the twist.

Brilliant. I'm not usually a fan of slash, but this was so well done. I wish all romances were written as well as this. You've got talent! Such tension, steamy! Great work.

It's real good. I love student-teacher romances ^__^ I also just hope Hermione has a say. She has proved to be a rather fiesty girl, which I hope we get to see.

I really did like this chapter! I'm glad to hear that this isn't a mushy story where the characters just sacrifice all for love with no questions asked, because in my opinion love isn't everything, but who cares about that. This is a really great development, and as much as I want to see them stay together, I enjoyed this ending. Great chapter!

Author's Response: Glad you weren\'t angry with them (or me!). Thanks for the review!

Aww, I kept waiting for Oliver and Laura to just drop the pretence and make up, but NO. You've got to keep me on edge.
I really liked the part about the four houses, and how they'd all react with the burning house. I thought that was a nice touch. it's a difficult subject, and you avoided stereotypes well. Great chapter!

Author's Response: Haha...Oliver and Laura don\'t drop pretences easily, unfortunately for them. Thanks very much for the review!

Aww. It is sweet like cotton candy but I still ADORED this chapter! I'm so glad they finally got together. This chapter was a perfect semi-conclusion to the story. I got a little watery-eyed for this one. Great story, great characters. I love your OC, Laura. I'm sad its over, but I'm glad I read this!

Author's Response: As I remember, it was a difficult chapter to write because Laura and Oliver had to be a little...cuter than I liked them to be. I think they deserved a happy ending, though. Thanks for the review!

Wow. I accidentally stumbled across this story when someone was recommending it to someone else, but I'm floored. The dialogue was amazing, and reminded me strongly of how my friends an I talk! You've got me hooked! Your writing style is smooth and enticing, and I really want to know what happens next! I must keep reading!

Author's Response: Thanks very much! And thanks to the person who accidentally recommended the story to you, as well. I\'m glad you stumbled across it.

Four hundred pages? Really? It didn't seem that long. This was a wonderful story, as I think I've mentioned in other reviews, but I really did like it. You write beautifully, and your characters are always enjoyable to read about. Great work!

Author's Response: Thanks very much! The 400 pages didn\'t seem that long to me, either.

Your attention to detail is absolutely amazing! This has been the first piece I've really been able to lose myself in--on MNFF or off--in ages. The scene in the bathroom--great detail! Who would have though about the bathing setup for students? I thought I was the only one who was concerned with that. You think of everything, and your dialogue is really amazing! The story has great pace and I'm so intrigued. The scene on the broom was positively electric. I can't wait to read more!!!

Author's Response: I bet more readers than either of us realize are a little concerned about where Harry and his friends are able to bathe and brush their teeth. :-) Thanks for the review!

I just have to say this. Every chapter I read there's something that strongly reminds me of myself about Laura, and then there are other characters that remind me of people I know. Which probably means that you're a brilliant writer, but I've mentioned that already in previous reviews. I can't quit reading. Wow.

Author's Response: I like hearing that people can relate to some of the characters in the story. Thanks for reviewing!

Wow. I just cried. I'd like to think it has something to do with it being midnight where I am and I'm possibly overtired, but this was an amazing chapter. No, it was not too vague, it was excellent. The chapter didn't seem any shorter than others. Actually, since I've been reading this all in one sitting, it all just blends into one great story...which I am obliged to continue. I agree with your theory of magical objects "feeling." The Anglia at least is canon proof/support. Great chapter!

Author's Response: :) Thanks very much!
