I'm a college student at an engineering school. I'm in love with biology and various other science-related things. I play the saxophone and the piano (both poorly).

I'm not a huge shipper. I'll read just about any ship as long as it's done believably. I once wrote a Draco/Luna fic simply because someone mentioned it and it sounded intriguing (and somewhat horrifying)—I don't know that it will ever see the light of day, however.

On the Archives:

An April Goodbye: A vaguely Snape/Lily one-shot set during their fifth year. Written as a contest entry.

In Pursuit of Greatness: Basically Bellatrix Lestrange's life story, as obnoxious as that sounds. I began writing this story in 2009 and shockingly don't quite cringe reading the earlier chapters. This is the longest I've ever spent on a project, and I'm not finished yet.

Love a Duck! by Schmerg_The_Impaler

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Love a duck! Will he stop at nothing? Voldemort is rapidly taking over, and his Death Eaters are killing Muggle-borns every day. The good news? A mysterious man, known only as The Phoenix, is rescuing people in the nick of time all over England.

Meanwhile, newlywed writer Lily Potter has troubles of her own. For one, her marriage is not turning out to be as great as she'd thought... for another, she's been blackmailed by an old "friend" into turning spy and discovering the Phoenix's true identity.

Thrills, spills, laughs, gasps, song lyrics, and good old swashbucklin' intrigue.

Inspired by Baroness Emmuska Orczy's excellent novel, "The Scarlet Pimpernel," and Frank Wildhorn and Nan Knighton's AMAZING musical by the same name.

But if you're not familiar with either, the story's just all the more suspenseful! All song lyrics used in this story are based on those by Wildhorn and Knighton

I've never read/listened to/seen any of the incarnations of the Scarlet Pimpernel, though I do have a few friends who have an occasional fit of excited squealing about it. That aside, I'm quite enjoying this story. I feel sorry for Lily. I said "aww" (loudly, in a public-ish place) at whatever Snape said about tangoing and Gothic-Victorian costumes. Oh, and I want to KILL James.

Author's Response: Agh! I totally need to update this... I completely forgot about this story! Thanks so much for the review... but let's just say there's maybe a little more to James than meets the eye. ;-)

Last Chance to Lose Control by lily_evans34

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Hermione has lost everything – until she finds someone who understands, whose companionship transcends her faith in everything she has ever known. Songfic to ‘Hysteria’ by Muse.

This is extraordinary and heartbreaking. Not in a disastrous, everything-falls-apart-at-once way, but it makes you ache, a bit. It's beautiful.

Author's Response: Oh, thank you so much for your kind words!

Taking Direction by WeasleyMom

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: What if the characters in the Harry Potter films were portrayed—not by actors—but by the book versions of themselves, as created by Rowling? How might things unfold on that set? What would the characters think of the changes made from the stories they’d already lived out… to the ones written for the script?

This fic is a series of one-shots, posted as chapters, each from the perspective of a different character who is dealing with the changes occurring between the book and the script.

Holy Movie Canon, Batman! This fic won the 2011 Quicksilver Quill Award for Best Chaptered Humor Story. Thanks so, so much!

Brilliant. Ron's sheepish admission about "saving it for Seven" made me laugh out loud. Congratulations on the QSQ!

Author's Response: Aw, thanks so much! I still kind of can't believe it. :) I'm thrilled you laughed out loud at this--yay!

Obnoxiously reviewing my own story to say that I made the edits my reviewers suggested. ;)
