Emmy Chahal for CBC, Canada. - I was just wondering what the most valuable piece of advise you would give to an aspiring writer?
JK Rowling: Read as much as you can, I think that there is nothing as important, because that will really show you what makes good writing in your opinion, obviously it's very subjective. You will probably go through a phrase when you imitate your favourite writers and I think that is necessary and a good learning process.
After that, you just have to accept it takes a phenomenal amount of perseverence and the people who deserve to make it ... you probably will not like 90 per cent of what you write, one day you write a single page you like and build on that.
Hi, I'm a young writer here.
Those are J.K. Rowling's own words, everyone. For me, it may be a bit dificult to follow them, as excited as I was to find out that my absolute favorite writer of all time gave me adivce.
1) Read as much as you can. Check.
2) Go through a phase imitating your favorite writers. If fanfiction counts, then, infinite checks.
3) Perservere...... well, I don't think I'd live if I tried not to write. =)
4) You won't like 90% of your writing, so write a page you like and go from there. Haha, so true. That's why reviews matter! ;) They give you self confidence.
I really love the Harry Potter seiries, but I love Mugglenet's Fanfiction even more.
I have way too many favorite characters, but I especially love Lily Evans and Lily Potter. (And Neville, who goes without saying).
The only ships I don't support is Hermione/Draco, or Ginny/Draco. I personally think Draco would be better off living alone and childless. I know that sounds.... a bit.... mean, but Draco, I think, is generally a bad person, despite his reasons for acting bad.
About Snape: I recently went to Potted Potter a parody by Dan and Jeff, and they asked the crowd if Snape was good or bad. I embarrased myself by shouting 'Bad'.
However, I wholeheartedly agree that Snape was a very mean person. He was terrible to Harry, and pretty much everyone else, no matter how torn up inside he was. Snape's personally one of my favorite characters (if you didn't guess from 'Almost') and I have nothing against him. I just don't think he's 'good'.
I hope you like my stories.
Wow. Haven't been on here in a long time. ;) If anyone's interested in what I've been up to these days, I suggest you look up the author
Astrid Goes For A Spin
on Fanfiction.net. Don't worry, I haven't done any Harry Potter on there, unless you count my true work of art, my crossover. Now, no more spoilers!
Read on, and please, review!
Also, about reveiws - some of them I've forgotten to thank the reveiwer, but I really love getting reveiws, so to anyone I've forgotten, thanks for reveiwing!

September 2012: HEY guess what I couldn't wait, and the third installment, "World Enough," is UP NOW under James/Lily. Or just under my name. Or at this link: http://fanfiction.mugglenet.com/viewstory.php?sid=92131. Yay! :D
Absolutely perfect, I've been waiting for that chapter forever!
I love that last sentance! And also, if you're not an author someday - a real one- I'll be writing some strong letters in your favor, missy.
Wow. I always loved this story because of the charachterization, and how light it was, most of the time. Now it's so dark, and different, but very well written. Please update soon!
Author's Response: aww, thanks....part of me kind of wishes that i didn't have to do that, that i could just make it fun and fluffy all the time :) but i guess it can't be helped. i'm glad you still like it though, and the next chapter is in queue now!
That was so sweet! I knew it had to be Wolfsbane, because nothing else would made Remus like that. I still can't figure out Remus' mood, though, but I'm proud that James broke his part. =) I so knew that Lily would do that for Remus. She's so nice. =)
I just wanted to say, you know how much I love your writing already, when Sirius is coming in from his ah-skirmish with James, he heads over to Remus and Lily, though when he's going over to Remus and Leda, he has to resist the urge to stick his tongue out. I think this is a typo, and don't worry, I do it all the time, and this is my 4rth read through, and I only just noticed it, and I was only thinking it might be helpful if someone alerted you so you could fix it. =)
My ABSOLUTE favorite part. There's that prankster I've been missing....
I might write it myself, but I'm a little iffy on the plot :
- Lily and James watching Harry break up with Ginny at Dumbledore's funeral, and maybe something about Harry staring at Ginny's dot on the Marauders Map for hours and hours in DH
Author's Response: Hey,
At this point I'm sort of on hiatus and probably won't be able to do much writing, but I encourage you to use your plot ideas and write something yourself!
Thanks for reading :)

In the dead of night on Christmas Eve, Molly Weasley sits alone in her kitchen, reminiscing about recent events. She isn't very festive this year, and nobody can bring her out of her funk.
When a mysterious caller arrives in her dreams, Molly is taken on an adventure she would only think of in her dizziest daydreams. Will this be enough to liven her up?

Really good. I have NO critique. (That is most unusual - be proud =))
Author's Response: Thank you so much! ~Manda
I loved it so much, it shows how weak people are like that - so weak that they'll open right up! Helps the plot move along anyway...
Author's Response: I'm glad you loved it! Thanks for reviewing!
Beautifully, intricately written, wonderful idea. Wish you'd written more!
Loved it, again. I liked how much she cared for them instead of herself. Keep writing! Maybe other torture ones. I don't know...you did a good job! =)
Author's Response: I'm pleased you found it satisfying, again. Hermione is interesting to write because she is so conscientious. I feel I only just scratched the surface here to keep in time with the action in the canon. Thanks for reading and reviewing! I'll be posting something new in the next few days...Also Hermione's POV, if you are interested.
Very good. You need to tell us: what kids Simon and Rose had, all about them, their family, and you need to have Rose tell Harry about her. You seriously need to, it is very unfair to keep him in the dark. I do love this story, even though it's so AU....normally, I'm a stickler for Canon. Very good job, I'm waiting for the Epilouge =)
Author's Response: The epilogue is going to show Rose and Simon's kids. I was hesitant about doing an AU, but this idea of Harry having a sister popped into my head and I couldn't just let it sit there! Actually, I got the idea when I was taking one of those dorky quizzes on facebook: you know, "Which HP character are you?" My result was Harry, hence Rose came to life. Thanks for reviewing!
Bill and Charlie must be some of the people mentioned in your disclaimer. =)
Author's Response: Definitely! -N-
The gift was the exact size of a ring box from a jewellery shop. One glance at it had been enough to send a chill down Lily's spine and almost enough to make her say, "You shouldn't have." She loved James, she just wasn't ready to get married.
I loved it at Christmas, I love it now.
Author's Response: If people can have Christmas in July why not Christmas stories all year round? It's more about relationships than the holiday, anyway. Thank you so much for rereading!
I loved that story SO much. That is going on my favorite story list! I enjoyed it so much, well written, imaginative, ingenius.... please write more stories like this!
Author's Response: Thank you?
Shocked a little at the 'car accident'....but I love it the same anyway!
Author's Response: A belated thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the first part! I really appreciate the review! ~Gina :)
Whoa. Heavy. Impressive, though. I do wish Lily would smack James around a bit, though. It's my favorite part of her character!
Author's Response: Another belated thank-you! Haha, I like that bit of her too. It's fun to be able to write stories that explore all sorts of situation for these two. She does smack him in my latest, if you are interested (it's long, though) Thanks again! ~Gina :)
Loved it. SO much. It was really well written, with a twist... it was like I couldn't put it down!
Author's Response: Yay! I'm glad you enjoyed it. My last very belated thank you for the reviews. I really appreciate it! ~Gina :)
De ja vu..... I feel like I've read and reviewed this story before..... but still, very good, very well written, I liked it very much. =)
Author's Response: Thanks
