Summary: At the end of sixth year, Lily hates Severus. She can never forgive him for that one word, no matter how careless. And so, when she goes home, Lily spends only a short time in her neighborhood before joining Mary in Godric’s Hollow.

At the end of sixth year, James loves Lily. She is his life. He lives to see her each and every day. And so, when he goes home, James is looking for a new way to win her heart in the coming year. Remus comes over, and the two hatch a plan.

At the end of sixth year, everything is as usual.

At the beginning of seventh year, everything has changed.

He regretted and hated his past and had no reason to believe that his future would be much of an improvement.
