Hello! You can call me Manda. I've loved Harry Potter for as long as I can remember, and I've written fanfiction for almost a year off and on. You'll find that I'm not hugely active, but I'm getting back into it now that the movies have all been released. This site is keeping me from going insane!
~ Random Facts About Me ~
~ "I'm highly logical, which allows me to look past extraneous detail and perceive clearly that which others overlook." -Hermione Granger, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
~ I have this and other quotes written on white boards in my room.
~ Dobby, Luna, Ginny, Neville, Ron, Hermione and Rose are my favorite characters.
~ I ship anything canon, plus Rose/Scorpius. I can handle the occasional Neville/Luna or Sev/Lily if it's written well and believably.
~ I find a way to mention Harry Potter in every conversation I have. My dad says I have a "one-track brain."
~ I'm really good at math, and I'm two grades ahead at school.
~ Last year I was the only one in my language arts class who believed in second-person point-of-view. My teacher believed me, though. :)
~ Pickles are my absolute favorite food. They are awesome.
~ My Stories ~
~ Crashing Down Around Them: On Hold Indefinitely. I may come back to this story later and redo it, but for now I won't be writing any more.
~ The Christmas Caller: Complete! This is my first finished story, and I'm very proud of it!
~ I'm George Weasley!: Complete! This is a one-shot sequel to The Christmas Caller, suggested by a reviewer! I may add more to it eventually, but for now it works as a one-shot.
~ Spellbound: Chapter Nine Approved! This story is Chamber of Secrets from Ginny's POV, with a very interesting twist...
That was a great story! You're right; it is sad, but it's very good, too. I only have one nitpick- instead of Weasley's Wizard Wheezes, it should be Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes. Putting the apostrophe before the 's' says that there's one Weasley; it should be after, because there are two.
Great job! I look forward to more from you!

Author's Response: Thanks for your review! Also, thanks for mentioning the apostraphe problem. I have fixed it now!
The gift was the exact size of a ring box from a jewellery shop. One glance at it had been enough to send a chill down Lily's spine and almost enough to make her say, "You shouldn't have." She loved James, she just wasn't ready to get married.
I loved this fic! Your characterization of everybody was spot-on, especially Lily and her worry about the possible engagement ring. I also liked what you added about Lily's father liking to 'carve for an audience.' That tells a lot about his character in a simple line.
Vernon was great: perfectly irritating, if that makes sense. He's just one of those characters you love to hate. His bluntness reflected his personality wonderfully.
I liked how you had the Felix Felicis in here, and I think it was nice how Lily had wanted to save it for Severus, since she thought his potion was better than hers. It was sweet how she let Petunia use it, and it ended up working quite well for her, too. ;) For some reason, though, I don't find it likely that Slughorn would have the same reward for making the same potion for both Lily and Harry's classes. I don't know why; it just doesn't seem right to me. I liked the touch it added to this, though.
Finally, I don't know if you noticed or not, but you gave Lily's aunts (Rose is her aunt, right?) and cousin flower names just like Lily and Petunia. I thought that was a nice touch as well, even if it wasn't meant on purpose.
Great job!

This is a really amazing story! I always have a hard time finding good next-gen stories that involve more of the adults as well as the kids, if you know what I mean. I've always loved Ron and Hermione, and I love Rose and Hugo too, so I'm glad this story kind of centers on them. I also ship Rose/Scorpius, and I love how they're portrayed in this story.
You'd better not kill off anybody! That's all I have to say on that subject... Just don't do it.
Keep writing!

Oh, I love this story! But I hate how you're hurting everybody. But I love how Rose and Scorpius are together! But I hate how Ron's dying. Grr, mixed emotions. >.<
Anyhoo, this story is amazing, no matter how many people you kill/seriously injure/switch POV's while they're lying in Scorpius' arms. Ah, it's just so great! Definitely keep writing; you're wonderful!

There's something Lily's been waiting to hear since Harry said his first word.
Written in anticipation for Deathly Hallows, part two.
Nominated for the 2011 Best Dark/Angsty QSQ. Thank you, Maple!
Really? Are you trying to make me cry? Because you're succeeding. That was really beautiful, and I loved every word! I thought the competition between James and Lily was very much like them, and it helped balance the sadness.
I liked the second-person as well. I haven't read any other stories that use it, but this was really well written. Most people don't believe me when I tell them there is such a thing as second-person, so I'll have to point them to this fic. :)
Great job!

That was a great story! Nice and short, just what I was looking for. I knew what was going to happen from the moment I figured out how old they were, and it was wonderful! I liked seeing a different side of Severus from the one I usually read in fanfiction, and I might have to go read a Sev/Lily story now. Thanks for bringing that out! (:
