I am a proud graduate of the University of South Carolina and am now living in the southern US. While I can't promise I'll write any more as a band director than I did as a college student, I will at least finally have money to support my habits. My favorite stories on here are Oblivious and Imperius by Pallas, and Hogwarts Houses Divided and the Alexandra Quick series by Inverarity. I suggest checking all of those stories out!

The Severed Souls by Magical Maeve

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Summary : The sequel to Daughter of Light. Maeve has a very bad end to her honeymoon as things come to light about Severus that astound her. Why is her husband so keen to keep Draco Malfoy alive at all costs and can she really get over her loathing of Narcissa Malfoy to work together to save both Severus and Draco from the fate that Voldemort would like to inflict on them? Why is Harry so furtive and will Neville save the day when Maeve’s necklace is returned to her by her father. Oh, and our favourite bad-boy Auror is back!

There has been rather a long break in the writing of the story due to work commitments, but I'm back on the case and hoping to get it finished - if there's anyone left still reading!! :-)

*Quote from The Epilogue*

Suddenly Harry was kissing her as if he couldn’t resist the temptation. There was a kind of frenzy to the kiss at first, a kind of desperate need, but it melted into something soft and sweet and gentle, a promise of a future when kisses would never be limited. When they broke apart he rested his forehead on hers, sprinkling a few affectionate butterfly kisses across her face. “I love you,” he murmured.

The Song of the Trees by Tinn Tam

Rated: 6th-7th Years •

As his investigation progresses, everything Harry has learnt is called into question as he discovers the most jealously kept secret of the Wizarding civilisation.

First place in the 2007 Autumn Challenge’s New Beginnings prompt.

Nominated for Best History/Mystery in the 2008 QSQs!

Canon compliant with all seven books, however, not compliant with all interviews given by JKR.

Questioning the Freak and the Whale by Phenioxsong22

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Lily has planned this meeting from the day she and James began dating. First, there would be the greetings between James and her parents. Then, dinner would come. This would be closely followed by a time to just chat and have her parents and boyfriend become acquainted with each other. Everything would be perfect. But this all changes after her sister’s insufferable boyfriend shows up, “Black” magic goes haywire, and her parents don’t return from ‘their honeymoon all over again’ until the next day. Couples battle it out, and it seems no one will make it out in one piece after three arm wrestling matches, a bounding black dog, and an angry exchange. This meeting is certainly not going as planned...

Childhood's End by spiderwort

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Minerva McGonagall comes of age during turbulent times, marked by a horrific Muggle war and the cunning predations of a malevolent, long-lived warlock named Grindelwald. Her own life is marked by struggle: her mother's mysterious mental disturbance; her friends' troubles, which she feels bound to ameliorate; and the looming responsibilities she faces as sole heir to Connghaill Keep. This book, the first in a series, records her last carefree summer and her first year at Hogwarts. The series itself, titled "Before the Beginning", follows Minerva through her formative years, from 1936 through 1945, the end of both the Muggle war and Grindelwald's freedom, and the rise of a new Dark Lord.

The milieu, the protagonist and most of the characters belong to Jo Rowling. The plot is my own.

Thanks to my most excellent Scots, Brit-picking, and history-savvy beta, Ewan Munro. I owe him much more than thanks. Here's to you, Ewan! Most patient beta a girl ever had.

Challah and Pumpkin Juice by Calico

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •

The volatile state of Europe as it waits for both a muggle and a wizarding war to begin has prompted Hogwarts to take in students from many countries. How will Tzipporah handle magic, mischief, and even a little romance while trying to be true to her religion and culture at the same time?

Alexandra Quick and the Thorn Circle by Inverarity

Rated: 1st-2nd Years • Past Featured Story
Summary:

Winner of the 2008 Quick Silver Quills Award for Best General Story.

The first book in the Alexandra Quick series.

The war against Voldemort never reached America, but all is not well there. When 11-year-old Alexandra Quick learns she is a witch, she is plunged into a world of prejudices, intrigue, and danger. Who wants Alexandra dead, and why?

This story is canon-compliant with the Harry Potter universe, but the characters and settings are all original. I've put a lot of work into envisioning a world as detailed as the original series; I hope you enjoy it.

A Little More Time by Pallas

Rated: 3rd-5th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: Was it possible to save two lives in the past without altering history? Was it possible to give his parents a future twenty years after they had supposedly died? Teddy Lupin thought so...

The Battle for Hogwarts by Ashwinder

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: With Harry off hunting Horcruxes, Ginny, Neville and Luna reform the DA and do what they can against the new regime at Hogwarts. Contains DH spoilers, obviously!

Friends, Funerals… and Fred by FinnFiona

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary:

[Final warning: DH spoilers follow.] Three days after the final battle of Hogwarts, Harry must begin the painful task of attending the many funerals of the fallen. The first is perhaps the hardest, and Harry is focused on helping the Weasley family make it through the day—but maybe he still has a few things left to learn himself.

Author’s Note: I’ve read many a good story on the death of Fred Weasley, of whom I have always been very fond. Yet I think I needed to write my own version for that extra bit of closure. I hope you all enjoy, and maybe even experience a touch of catharsis yourselves. And as always, please leave a review! They're a huge help, and will all receive responses.

The Letter by Cassandras Cross

Rated: 6th-7th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: DH SPOILERS! Harry is so consumed with his career as an Auror that he loses touch with Ginny and their children until a letter arrives to help him remember what really matters. But is something sinister waiting out there to take it all away? An escape from Azkaban, the first in twenty years, stirs up Harry's worst fears from the past as those he loves are threatened.

Romance, mystery, and drama combine to make this a story you won't soon forget! Set one year before DH epilogue. Completely canon compliant. All reviews receive responses.

THE EPILOGUE IS UP! I don't know whether to laugh or cry as this story comes to an end, and Harry finally figures out where it's really at. (Thanks again to the amazing mods for your rapid-fire response!)

Once There Was A Darkness: Year One by C_A_Campbell

Now, twelve years later, a girl will embark on the journey of a lifetime. But life at Hogwarts for a first year is far from simple, especially not when she's in the same year as Harry Potter. She will face enemies, choices and danger, while struggling to deal with her past's dark secrets that, after all these years, still threatens to destroy her.

One girl's journey. One man's desperate search. One last chance for Severus Snape to find the daughter he lost.

Year One of Seven of the Once There Was A Darkness series. Year Two now posted.

Imperius by Pallas

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: “Imperius… Werewolves…You-Know-Who…” The last words of a dying man force Remus Lupin into a dangerous investigation at the infamous Feral Institute. Sequel to Oblivious; pre-reading would be useful but it isn’t vital.

Symphony for Quartet by Tinn Tam

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary:

Winner of the QuickSilver Quills Award, categ. Best Marauder Era.

What did being a Marauder truly mean?... Let's just say that some tunes cannot be played by a lone musician; and those four's lives were certainly not soloists' scores. In class or in detention, in Quidditch matches or full-moon wanderings, fleeing before monsters or confronting dark wizards, they wrote, measure after measure, their own eight-handed piece.

Messrs Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs, are proud to present a Symphony for Quartet.

A Road of Shattered Glass by Ennalee
